I guess NBC likes cancelling their new shows. First Playboy Club. And now Free Agent.

Good.  I love Hank Azaria, but that show sucked.

We didn't make it through the first episode.

I was surprised that in this day and age; that a prime time series would use alcohol abuse as a joke.

Great news, Cillaliz. What about the rest of his family? Would they have been deported, too? Or would he have been deported alone?

His dad is still here and has a hearing set in 2015.  He's got a different attorney and very little chance to stay here after that.  His mother is back in his home country.  I'm not at liberty to discuss the grounds at this point, he had the courage to tell me and the court, but not to tell his parents.  I'm sure many of you can guess.  It was a pro bono case and well worth it.

I hope by then the son will be able to ok on his own.

He'll be close to 20 by the time his dad has his hearing.   He's not concerned about being on his own then.

That is what I meant, except 20 is still young to be all alone.

Either I didn't get that far or I don't remember it.

Cillaliz, wonderful news about the teenager! It must be very rough, especially, when kids are brought over illegally, through no fault of there own

I am curious is you saw the news story about the farm labor shortage in Alabama since their new anti-illegal immigrant laws went in to effect.

Guess those politicians should have thunk of the consequenses before blindly catering to fear and hatred.

I should say...one of those was the potty hand...and it was smiling at us.

Politicians thinking of consequences?  LOL, I don't think any of them do that.

It's all crazy.  I've been speaking to various groups to describe what our immigration laws are.  It's something most people don't bother to find out when discussing immigration.   There is no need for all the drama and excitement on any side, although I'll admit I fall into it from time to time.

15 years ago immigration reform that doesn't work was passed into law. No matter the political point of view, once people learn how that system works, I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't think there needs to be change.   I think that's the real starting point, but it seems no one wants to consider the practicalities of the law and how the current law actually encourages people to break it.   I also think it's wrong for the states to be legislating immigration policy, that's a federal function.  My 2 cents.

TOD:  "Favorite"  Are you kidding?

Hmmmm.....Barrett's "Kander & Ebb"; "Unsung Sondheim", "Lost in Boston", "David Shire" CD, "One-Eyed Jacks", the "Cinderella" CD...and on, and on, and on......

I think One-Eyed Jacks is my favorite. Great score. Great film. If only we had a great Blu and Ray!

That may never happen. The film is in public domain and there are many releases from various DVD companies. Although Paramount released it was produced by an independant company. I am going to presued that the original elements are long gone.

An interesting side note it was the last film made in VistaVision

A very happy, happy, happy (that is 3 happys) birthday to returned DR JMK,who should refrain from leaving HHW because he often makes me chuckle.

I'm pretty sure some adult authority figure warned me about this happening to my palms if I continued a certain teenage practice.  ;)

Thanks.

We are watching high school football, trying to get a glimpse of our dear niece/goddaughter Lauren on the Sycamore sideline.  She's doing an athletic training internship at Sycamore High School in Cincinnati this semester.

No, DR Cillaliz, we were watching on TV until time for BIG BANG THEORY.  I just switched back to the game and, wonder of wonders, Fox Sports Ohio is actually broadcasting the bands at halftime.  Wish ABC and ESPN would do that for college games!

Hello everyone. ^^ Long time no read.

and see, I suppose.

Things have been beautifully hectic at college and at home, and once again I find myself alone with musical songs as my only companion. Besides the internet.

Waiting eagerly for NYAF/NYCC next weekend, hardly believing it's come so fast. Can't wait to strut my stuff out there and get hugs and a bunch of new friends, and to meet up with my new college buddies while hanging out with my old high school ones.

GROUPS, UNITE!!!!!!
So if I see any of you in the city, I'll try my best to make myself recognizeable so you won't be startled. But other then that, just be careful around the javitz center. x)

How's everyone else doing?
