Yesterday, as DR Ben mentioned, we met him and Anthony for lunch. We had a great time (and the food was delicious)! Ben had to go back to work, but Anthony kindly showed us how to get to Washington Square Park and then led us to 7th Avenue so we could see the Village Vanguard. My fellow Streisand fan, Paul, wanted to see where Barbr had performed a couple of years ago (I was one of the crazies waiting outside for hours that day, just for a glimpse of her majesty).
We then went to the Lion, where Barbra had first performed in 1961. Then it was to a bar for a drink.
We really didn't have time for dinner, but I wasn't hungry anyway. We had a 7 pm curtain for Anything Goes.
Unfortunately, Joel Grey was out (actually, the insert in the playbill said that the role of Moonface Martin is " NOW being played by Robert Creighton," so I guess Mr. Grey is gone for good. Frankly, I don't know he could have been better than Mr. Creighton. Sutton Foster was amazing! How she could still sing after that demanding tap routine in the title song, I can't imagine. She didn't seem to be out of breath at all. The other actors were all great too.
