I am quite happy to find that the cable station The Antenna Network is now showing the 1960s anthology mystery series KRAFT SUSPENSE THEATRE (aka CRISIS).....watched two episodes this weekend and am LOVING IT!

Lots of nifty guest stars....Tina Louise, John Gavin, Aldo Ray, Clu Gulager, Tippi Hedren...

And one of the coolest themes ever, John(ny) Williams IIRC.

In fact I first learned how to make minor sus 2 chords after listening to that theme and running to the piano to mimic it.

Back from a lovelier than lovely lunch meeting at Nate 'n' Al's.  Wonderful food, as always.  Picked up one package and some water and now I'll do the four-mile jog.  After that, I'm in for the day and evening.

Good Afternoon!

I got all of my errands done earlier, and the four hour rehearsal I was asked to play today, ended up only lasting two. :)

bk - Just 14 days of rehearsal? That should be more than enough time as long as the students get their songs memorized early on.

Good morning, all! I had a very, very peculiar dream involving being driven to an audition by Queen Elizabeth II, who drives like a fiend around London and auditions in a high soprano voice that only dogs for the most part can hear. The really odd part of this dream is that I was in a court room on some litigation case and the Queen showed up, when the whole thing became an audition.

Last night at 8:30, I went down to O'Lunney's on 50th Street next to the threatre where THE FANTASTICKS is playing, for one of David Lutken's hootenanny nights. David replaced Keith Carradine in THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES, and he is a fantastic performer, who knows every folksong ever written. I first ran into him during the City Opera's PAUL BUNYAN, in which he played the balladeer. Whenever he comes into town, he has one of his hootenannies and actors and musicians turn up with fiddles, guitars, basses, tambourines, mandolins, etc. and play along. Since David's in our show, a lot of the cast, producers, and stage manager showed up and it was a lot of fun. I left around 10, got home by 10:30, and I was in bed by 11:15.

Today at noon, we begin rehearsals, and I'm excited. I've got music to photocopy before I show up, but I think it will be a good day.

Fingers crossed.

Fingers and toes.  I am so excited for you elmore!

welcome back to NYC vibes to DR JOSE.

Thanks to DR ELMORE for The Blue Flower report.....yikes!

I haven't watched Pan Am for two weeks, and I don't miss it.

AND I hated the ending of TAR last night - come on, producers!  Don't waste our time.

DR JRand61, thanks for the analysis. I'm puzzled by it, but any thoughts are welcome.

I'm off for the day. I'll report back when I get home tonight.

You do get on my nerves at times, DR JMK, but I can't say I'm fed up with you.

It was quite a good rehearsal; the new arrangements work quite nicely, and the cast is picking up the material at a good clip. Thank God they're all really good singers and really talented performers. We worked on the most difficult charts today, and finished up with an easy bluegrass number, "Christmas Time's A-Coming"

I still have dim memories of some Kildare or Casey episode I caught whilst a child home sick from school and the show was running in reruns during daytime.  It started with some young girl driving into a truck that had lumber sticking out of the back.  They couldn't figure out why it had happened but ultimately discovered she was epileptic and had suffered a seizure because the truck's blinker light had created a seizure.  Why I should remember this episode when I can't recall my children's names is rather disturbing.

I remember that episode.  It was BEN CASEY.  The young woman who crashed into the truck was a nun.  I believe the role was played by Zina Bethune

I believe it was this episode and Joan Hackett was the nun:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0521221/

JR will know this, but there is a one degree separation between Frances Farmer and former DR Aura18 on this episode.

And it looks like Joan was not a nun, simply your ordinary non habited epileptic.

DS Craig called during his layover in Dallas.  He said his Bret Michael's costume was a big hit.  People complimented him all night & many asked to take their photo with him.

I look forward to hearing more details of his Saturday night in San Antonio.  Keith asked if he went to the Alamo & his response was "No, why would I do that?".  He was just joshing Keith & it worked. :)
