Well, you've read the notes, the notes prayed for and praised Rosemary's Baby, novel and film, and now it is time for you to post until the devil cows come home.

We saw Rosemary's Baby on a double bill at the drive in with The Odd Couple......

It was quite the evening of entertainment.

GLEE was okay last night - even with the truncated versions of songs from WSS - which made me want to watch the movie, which I may do tonight.

DR JOSE obviously that nurse didn't know who are you.....you should have just told her you were a famous Broadway pianist - but be very careful how you pronounce that on the telephone.

My niece and her husband are in LA for the launch of the new video game that the company they work for makes.

They had a big party at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Olympic last night at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant and then a concert by Jane's Addiction.....fun!   ;D

Bethesda Games is owned by Linda Carter (Wonder Woman) and her husband who are both very nice people, and nice people to work for.  ;D

I recall that they did a sequel to ROSEMARY'S BABY as a television movie.

Rosemary (played by Patty Duke?) disappears about 15 minutes into it, then the rest of the film centers on her grown son.

Frankly, I don't remember much about it...except that one scene takes place in a shul.

Question:

Was this film adapted from Levin's book...or was it another writer's concoction?

Rosemary's Baby is certainly a brilliant film. I've seen a HD TV broadcast of it which looked vastly better than the DVD. It's high time a Blu-ray version came out.

I must read the book. I've never read any of Ira Levin's novels.

Pan Am starts on BBC television next week. As a keen flyer I will have to watch it. One thing which looks daft is having somebody play a pilot who looks about 20 years old! But then everything has to be slanted to appeal to the young nowadays.

True ROSEMARY'S BABY Story Department:  My mother was aghast when she found me reading ROSEMARY'S BABY (which she of course had purchased to read).  She tried to take it from me and I went ballistic, at which point she said, "All right, but if you have any questions, ask your father."  My only question (as hilarious as it was) was the fact that I had never seen the word "buttocks" printed before and was confused by it momentarily.  I was taught to read phonetically and had ass-umed (ahem) up until that point that that word was spelled "butex".  :)

Levin wrote a sequel, Son of Rosemary, which many people found somewhat confusing.

I remember reading THIS PERFECT DAY in my Doubleday Book Club edition when I was quite a young child.  I don't think that was ever made into a film.
