You posted on November 2 that Molly found her. So she lived a normal life-span (four to six weeks) for a non-migrating butterfly.

It's a gorgeous, chilly day in Oakland CA.

BK:  Delighted with the success of "Lost and Unsung".  I often wonder how it feels to be doing things in life you really love doing...as an occupation!!!

JRand:  Sorry about Sugarfoot.

Thank you Vixmom.  By bedtime I could put eye drops in without my eyes burning like heck.  Today they are just their normal itching allergy ridden eyes.

Elmore, I like your reasoning on registering Democrat, except for the fact that I've been an independent since I first registered to vote. Plus, I like telling the people from their campaigns what I truly think of the candidates they support. I don't know if ears of the woman from the Cain campaign are still ringing, but I tried my best.

Plus, I get to do that with candidates of both parties.

I plan to change my registration to Independent.  I wanted to be sure first their wasn't a front runner republican to vote for in the primaries.

TOD:

I generally find Crichton books a slog to get through but I have read a good many of them.  I guess the best of the lot were:

The Andromeda Strain
The Great Train Robbery
Jurassic Park
The Terminal Man

Jennifer my concern is I will not be able to see without my glasses & trip walking around the pool.  I've always been able to swim with my eyes open & do so which is why they are hurting so much now.  Extra water splashed into my eyes while I was in the hot whirpool after my swim.

Do you have any brand suggestions, good or bad?

I think the brand i have is Leader. But if you buy them anywhere but at your pool the person there should know something about goggles. And you can try them on and see how they feel.

Can you bring your glasses into the pool area and then just take them off and leave them in your bag right before you go in?  What do you do now (i'm assuming you don't swim with your glasses on)?

I guess you just got used to swimming without goggles and i got used to them at a young age. My eyes are very sensitive. I can't stand getting chlorine in them. I actually swim with a nose plug too. I can't stand getting water in my nose. :)

Believe it or not I have been swimming with my distant glasses on.  I needed them for the aquatics class I took & then just left them on while I swam afterwards.  I liked being able to see & I'm not diving in them.  I feel more secure walking around the pool area with them on & not swimming into a person I didn't see in time.

I've not heard of Leader.  If I don't find any locally that I like I will check the brand out on line.

Oh, and I do leave my bad near the pool & I might be forced to leave my glasses there if I have goggles.  I walked a short distance with my glasses off yesterday after my swim & did ok.

I'm up and would be out jogging save for the fact that this telephonic meeting is taking place at eleven.  So, it will probably go for thirty minutes or so and then I'll probably go eat something, pick up packages and stuff, THEN jog before the four o'clock reunion of the pit singers, who'll rehearse Turkey Lurkey before we do our stumble-through.

Oh, well, I misunderstood - the telephonic meeting is tomorrow at eleven.  I could have jogged thirty minutes ago.  Still, I'll eat first and jog at two.

Back from errands. It was the 30-minute stand on a crowded bus from hell, from Third Avenue and 79th, that reminded me just exactly how much I loathe and detest the East Side.

TOD

The Andromeda Strain.

When I read and saw it all those years as a teen I didn't realize it was fiction

I remember the first time I saw the movie and I loved it...it wasn't fancy with special effects, just a well thought out story that hooked me from the begining. :)

Back from a lovely luncheon meeting with the grantwriters.  It's still cold and drizzly here in SW Ohio.

When I read the book I couldn't put it down.  I begged Keith not to begin it on the weekend as he would be lost to me.  Of course he didn't listen & ignored me until he finished reading it.  The movie impressed us as it was so true to the book.  Of course years later they had to add more action to the remake.

Bk, Margo Hanson (the replacement pit singer) is married to Chuck Israels, a wonderful bassist who started teaching at Western Washington University when I was there.  I pretty sure that Margo also taught voice there.  Anway, I was in Chuck's jazz choir and got to know him and Margo.  I don't know if she remembers me, but if you read this in time and you have  a chance, please tell her that I said hello, and hello to Chuck, too. :)
