How nice to see MISS KAREN!! She and Cason do indeed sound busy. I had no idea Americorps got involved with the arts.

JMK, congrats on your iClosing. Was that with ING? If it was, were you happy with them?

I see that Vixmom went to work yesterday and didn't come home until today. Well, that's no surprise, is it?  ;)

Vibes for  a much-needed day off.

Yes, and a qualified yes.  The iClosing part was generally painless, though getting there had some bumps.  ING has been mostly OK, but they were a bit problematic a couple of times, overall I'd give them a solid B to B+.  All of that said, I'm still pinching myself that we have a fixed 2.75% rate.  We should have this house about 90% paid for by the end of the five year lock period and can either pay it off then or refinance.

The device mentioned by DR Jennifer sounds most interesting. I've never heard of such a device.

Some insurance companies are now offer roadside assistance as an option on car insurance. It's much cheaper than using the Auto Club.

After years of getting outbid on pricey Japanese import versions, I finally scored the domestic Decca 45 release of Dave Grusin's own versions of his themes to NAME OF THE GAME and IT TAKES A THIEF.  So eminently groovy.

Speaking of circa 1968, I was just thumbing through the 1968 Fall Preview Issue of TV Guide and was edified to learn 1968 was The Year of the Negro on television.

Wow! 2.75%!! I'm glad that ING came through. I talked to them about some mortgage issues. I had the impression that were progressive, but they weren't progressive enough for my needs. 2.75 on a refi is indeed impressive.

Today was one of those days that looks to be relatively free, but ends up being quite busy. Busy with the stuff that I didn't get to earlier in the week. A catch-up day. Now, if I could get TRULY caught up, that would indeed be progress. (Not a chance!)

I've been spending my birthday doing what I love most - writing.  Just wrote three songs for what will be episode eight of Outside The Box - so much fun!  Episode seven I'd already done two and a half songs for, so I may wrap that one up, too.  Then the other day I figured out what episode nine will be, and then I just have to do ten, eleven, and twelve.  I can only write the "show" portions of these right now, until I figure out who will be in them - once I know who, then I can write the set-up scenes.

My engineer is picking up a mini-hard drive with a Kritzerland project on it at two.  So, now I'll go hopefully pick up packages, then come back, give him the drive, and then do the four-mile birthday jog.  I'm being taken to Barone's for dinner - I'm quite fond of that jernt.

2.75%??  Wow!  I refinanced at 5% almost four years ago.  I remember a co-worker telling me that she and her former husband (when they were still married) bought a house in the 1980s at 12% interest!  She also said that, at the time, that was a good deal.

I will most likely be E&T once again tomorrow.  We take Mom to the hospital for a quick procedure (knock wood) to have a stent in her bile duct removed.  Lord willing, this will be the last medical thingy she will have to go through after all the other hullabaloo of the past five months.

Happiest of birthdays to Papa Kimmel.

Speaking of which, I've joined the throng.  Adelaide Katz was born November 28: unbelievably beautiful and doing great.  Sleeps long stretches, rarely cries.  Latched on to Joy in her first hour of life like a pro.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Xmas song: I'm Happiest At Christmas deals with the state of being unhappy at a time in which everyone seems so cheerful.  It's part of The Christmas Bride, my musical opening in Portland, Maine at the Lucid Stage next week
