I've eaten tuna pasta salad and plenty of it, I've had a tiny slice of both cherry cheesecake and banana cream pie, and I've had a chocolate donut - and that will be it for the day.  Otherwise, I've just been enjoying a totally lazy day - finished Fright Night, began Tokyo Drifter and probably will go to my friend's place to see War Horse and, if I'm not falling asleep, Hugo.

Good evening, all! I am home from my peregrinations to West End Avenue and to West 43rd Street.

Both events were wonderful: the Raines had the usual suspcts and a few new folk includinf a very nice gentleman from the Metropolitan Opera staff and lots of good food and gossip: I know who's replacing Bernadette Peters for the LA tour of FOLLIES, I've signed Simon Jones to play Lord Henry in ROBERTA, and we've dished the current run of Broadway shows. I saw Charlotte's best friend Amy Tesich, daughter of the late playwright Steve Tesich whose autobiographical BREAKING AWAY is one of my favorite films. amy is now living in Colorado and working as a personal chef, and I hope that she and Charlottw and I can get together before she heads west on Dec 28.

Then at 2:30 I headed down to West 43rd Street to meet DR FJL. Skip, our E&T DR Julie, their agent Pat and her daughter.  The dinner was another work of art and the company was sterling. I had a wonderful time and returned home with mac 'n' cheese and a pork chop for tomorrow's lunch. Skip also sent me home with a few hand-turned chocolates, and on the basis of the ones I had, I would say the man's a master with chocolate as well.

Now that I am home, I can do the one thing I forgot to do this morning: open my cards and gifts I've received in the past several weeks. Who knows what i will find!

We had a late dinner, because people just would not leave church -- and I had to wait for them to leave because I was the only one left with keys to lock up.

Doug, have you heard the Welsh language group Ceredwen?  I'm listening to them as I type.  Kind of like Enya.

It is so cold here. And there is snow everywhere. I had to put my shoes away. :(

Usually we can not wear shoes outside for the whole winter. But this year for some reason the roads were bare until this week. So i'd been wearing shoes instead of boots most days.  But now it looks like at least 3 months of boots!

Can't wait to go Boxing Day shopping tomorrow. Although the stores are only allowed to open at 1pm.

Merry Christmas to everyone. Communication here in my sister's house the depths of Wales is difficult. But have briefly managed to get onto a computer. I can't get a connection on my mobile phone at all. We all went over to my niece's house for Christmas dinner and had a good time - especially when playing with the children's toys!

Happy Boxing Day, Doug!

Rob, Mary Linda, and my Mother arrived about 3:30.  We opened presents until the potatoes were ready to come out of the oven.  Took a break to eat dinner and Skype with Mary Linda's family in Michigan.  We returned to the family room to finish present-opening and eat the delicious chocolate bourbon pecan pie that ML made for dessert.  The 3 of them left about half an hour ago and Richard and I are ready to crash.

I am begining to think that everyone ate too much Christmas dinner, or enjoyed too much Christmas cheer, because we are only on page four!

And I'm actually about to head up to Fairfax with my brother. I'm going to spend the day up there tomorrow, and then bus back down Tuesday morning (since I have a show to play that evening).

Got your text.  Hee hee hee!

I'm watching a BBC Proms concert of John Wilson and his orchestra performing music by Rodgers & Hammerstein with Kim Criswell, Rodney Gilfry, Sierra Boggess and Julian Ovenden. It's quite wonderful.

I spent the afternoon at my sister and brother-in-law's house for Christmas.  It was actually one of the nicer Christmas Days in recent years.  Many years ago, my sis and her husband would host a Christmas Eve party for friends and family and a Christmas Day dinner for the family.  After my mom was killed, my sister stopped having a Christmas Eve gathering, and a result; Christmas Day dinner began including more than just family members.  Hey, it is there house and they can invite whoever they want to their house, but when you have family sitting in one room and their friends from the bars in another room; it wasn't a great experience for anyone.

This year, I got there, we opened gifts, we visited, we ate dinner, and I left before any of their bar friends had arrived.

We had two mighty fine Barolos with dinner, so it felt right to sit down with "Bottle Shock" for the rest of the evening. I love this movie.
