Before heading to JR's, my friend, Eric, and I had dinner at Sichuan Village out Chantilly, VA. It was quite good. The chefs there were all apparently trained in China, and the food that we had was obviously authentically prepared. Our waitress checked with us a few times to make sure we were ordering the spicier dishes on purpose, and once we assured that we were, well... The "ma la" was perfect. Hot enough to make your nose run and your forehead perspire, but not enough to burn out your taste buds.
