Artist Helen Frankenthaler has passed away.  Maybe my framed poster from her exhibit at the Whitney in New York in 1969 will be worth even more now.

Just read a disturbing report:  THE ADDAMS FAMILY will be closing on B'way this Saturday and, after having played over one year and eight months, will still lose *all* of its original 16.5 million dollar investment.

Reading something like that makes me realize--I really don't understand show business.

A mere several years after it was released (and many months after I started watching it), I finally finished THE ILLUSIONIST last night.  What a sweet (actually bittersweet) little animated film.  Really touching.

I thought THE ILLUSIONIST came out only last winter, DR JMK.  Is this the film made by the same guy who did THE TRIPLETTES OF BELLEVILLE?

I think I'll go through some of the "Unpurchased" items in my Amazon Wish List and purchase them.  For myself.

Yes, I guess I'm not quite as far behind as I thought.  :)

This year's HGTV Dream Home is in Park City, Utah.  My father had the opportunity to purchase the entire town of Park City (and, no, I am neither joking nor exaggerating) in the early 1960s, when it was a dilipidated bunch of former gold rush shacks.  My mother got quite exercised about it and told him that he'd better not waste their money on such a foolish enterprise.  :)

I accused one of my copyists of losing the musical sequence chart for the work on ROBERTA, and it turns out that I had it all along. Oy! What's run away with my mind?

I just sent an apologetic email along with the additional adjustments to be added to the chart. This show's bar count is longer than a Wagner opera.

I think I'll begin the "Yesterdays" Dance, and see how long it takes me to create a 120 measure score from orchestra parts.

I love these surreal phonograph covers for the show!

Those are great covers. The top is included in the CD release. I also love the green silhouette in the original poster.

They just announced that we're waiting for our crew to arrive and the flight is delayed by 20 minutes.  All connections are fine, the agent says.

No snow on the ground, but it's raining, though not too hard.  And the forecast for NYC is rain too, with wind,  I believe.  I hope there won't be any problem.  Maybe I worry too much!

My laptop is headead for a major meltdown. I had planned to take it after the new year, but the bad sectors on my hard drive have doubled. The battery is bad. The Optical drive is bad.

So I will try to find a computer to log on somewhere or try it from my phone. But if you've noticed that I have been n for awhile you'll know.

I drove to the SpeedLine train station this morning and when I pulled up to the parking lot gate, I reached into my pocket for my SpeedLine pass and realized that I forgot to put my SpeedLine pass in my pocket.  I not only forgot that pass, but also my Septa train pass and my office keycard.  So I had to drive all the way back home and then all the way back to the SpeedLine train station. (I could have simply paid for the SpeedLine fare and bought a one day pass for the Septa train, but I would have really missed my office keycard.)  Anyway, I got in only a half-hour late.  I'll make up for it by leaving a half-hour early this afternoon.

That's the way to do it, Dan.
