WICKED casting news -

6/15-7/2 Idina Menzel will be out filming a movie

7/20 Jennifer Laura Thompson (best known for URINETOWN) takes over as Galinda

7/20 Joey McIntyre takes over as Fyero

6/23-7/25 Randy Harrison (QUEER AS FOLK) plays Boq while Christopher Fitzgerald does summer stock

Old pros Joel Grey and Carole Shelley will remain in the show with no weeks off announced at this time

The young pros ought to learn something from the old pros.  I find it entirely nauseating with this new generation of Broadway leading player - leaving because they have concert dates occasionally, or a TV show to film, or because they have a headache - old pros don't miss performances unless there's an emergency of the highest order.

Oh wow, that photo looks like a painting.

DR Jane, if you were able to email the pic, then you can probably just post it in the attach box in "reply".

BK, I do agree that a number of younger performers miss a lot of shows.  But I don't think Idina Menzel is one of them.  She has been doing the show 8 days a week (I believe she's only missed a few shows).  IF she wants to do a film and then come back (instead of leaving the show), I don't really have a problem with that.

JRand, I hope my email isn't so large it is taking forever for you to receive it.

Somehow I ended up on page 5 without seeing my own photo.  Then I saw Jennifer's post and went back a page.  I guess that is what happens when I have too many interuptions.

Jennifer I tried posting in the attach box and it didn't work.  I waited for almost five minutes then had to close the site and re-enter.

I took that photo at the top of a new driveway where a new house will be built.  I will miss the walk up the hill once they begin building.

Now I will try to post a different picture from my walk.

Top of the evening all!

This is the first evening that it isn't pouring down rain and lightning so I can read everything and post!  Whoo Hoo!

I think I caught up on everything but if I miss something, I'm sorry.

I've seen lots of pictures!  Jane, that one is just lovely!  I wish I could vist with my dogs and have all of our babies go for walk down that trail. Wow!

Speaking of photos, I promised pictures of the parade for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

All were taken from the 22nd floor of County Center which is where I work.

Here is the first one:

Here is the 2nd one.

The #1 is the car with the Stanley Cup in it.

#2 is the team mascot, Lightning Bug

#3 is the tank(!) that followed the car holding the cup.

I didn't know it meant that much or needed that much protection.

George I hit the refresh button.  Everything disappeared but at least I didn’t have to leave the site altogether and start over.

JRand, when I did properties on your post it was different than when I do it on my computer.   Following is what I get (for the one I’m trying to post now)

Size:  55.4 KB (56,756 bytes)

Size on disk:  56.0 KB (57,344 bytes)

I’m trying to learn how to do this without Keith’s help.  The thing is even when he does it he can’t consistently post a picture.  Sometimes he makes the photo as small as possible and it still doesn’t work.  I am putting the jpeg into the attach box.  If it won’t post shouldn’t it at least tell me the photo is too big?

Sorry if I’m getting annoying now.  I will try one more time and give it a rest.

Thanks Jane!  I LOVE my camera.  It does take very nice pictures for the most part.

Except for Hugh Jackman.  For some reason it refused to focas on him and I have a wonderful shot of the back of his head.  I guess it failed to see the "Wonder of Hugh!" LOL!

Lord, I have so many things I want to say tonight. Get ready for some long posts!

Jane, I use Adobe PhotoShop when I do photos for the board.  It has a "Save for Web" feature and I created a "HHW Board photos" folder that I save them to when I size them.  I never knew what the ideal size was until I saw the 360 X 480 post.    I think I do 300 X 250, one way or the other.

I wrote that down in my little tip book so the next time I do some photos for here, I'll try that size and we'll see how it looks.

Aww, heck, I couldn't wait--here we have:

Danise I am going to admit that I have a crush on Vincent Lecavalier.  Even if he did almost singlehandedly bounce my habs out of the playoffs! :)

Funny cartoon from from the Hockey Night in Canada website after the Lightning removed the Canadiens from the playoffs (and it's appropriate given what I ate for lunch today!):

Plus just so that everyone knows and can ridicule her - DR Andrea ADORES haggis and eats it whenever she can.  She's even been known to polish off other less adventurous people's plates of the stuff.  Ew ew ew ew ew.

I'm back from driving to Westwoond from Studio City in terrible traffic - in both directions - to go to a lunch meeting which never happened. The person I was to meet with forgot, I guess. I guess. What a waste of writing time! And now, of course, I'm tired from the fershluganah driving.

I know what haggis is (not in this life time, not if my life depended on it would it pass my lips) but I don't know what (and do I really WANT to know?) what "poutine" is. Inquiring stomachs/tastebuds say, "NO!"

Just so you all won't be upset, I am eating a sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and pickles (although where the pickles came from I don't know because I sure didn't order them).

Ok, here are some of the things I didn’t get to say in the past couple of days, thanks to the weather.

First about the superstitions with the shoes.  I was wondering if anyone here had any others that they follow.

For example, if you ever speak with me on the phone, Jane and Elmore may or may not have noticed this, when I hang up, I NEVER say “Goodbye”.  I’ll say, “By and By” or maybe that’s “Bye and Bye”, anyway, either way you won’t catch me saying “Goodbye” unless I never intend to speak with you again.  That was another thing my Dad taught me.

I don’t know the why of it but he was very, very particular about that.

The next thing I wanted to say was about the roller coasters.  If any of you come to Tampa and you want someone to ride the coasters with at Bush Gardens, give me a call.  I’ll go with you and ride them with you as many times as you like.

That was one sad thing about growing up an only child.  I never had anyone my age (unless my parents allowed me to bring a friend–which wasn’t often) when we went to a park.

I have a Space Mountain story to share.  I first rode it before they slowed it down.  This was when I was around 16 and contacts were out of the question for me.  I had to wear my coke bottle thick glasses.  I had to go on that ride by myself (as always) and they put me in the car by myself.  Now I don’t know if any of you remember this but you were supposed to sit with someone behind you or in front of you.  I was in the car with a seatbelt that was made for two and it was NOT tightened enough.  Top that off with them making me take my glasses off so they wouldn’t fly off and I was both blind and basically unstrapped in that seat.

I think my nail prints are STILL embedded in the sides of that car, where ever in the world it is.  I was never so scared in my entire life!  I was bouncing from one side to the other and when there was a dip, I thought I was going to go flying out of it for sure,

I remember my Mom asking me if I was ok when they met me at the exit of the ride.  She said I was very pale and shaking.  I never forgot it.

I’ve only gotten sick on one ride–the Flying Camel at Bush Gardens but I had eaten a LOT of junk food before going on it.  My fault and I will never do that again.  Lesson learned.

I LOVE the Tilt-A-Whirl.  I could ride that all day.  Hey, anyone want to go a park and go on some rides?!  I'm in the mood!

Get ready because I am going to tell about my trip in SLC .  I hope you enjoy it.  I did!   :D

Well get ready because it up and coming.  I want you to know before I post it that these are the notes I typed on my PDA during the trip.  I'm going to edit them a little bit but didn't add anything to them.  The thoughts about NYC were what I was thinking at the time.

Also, Elmore, if you reading this (and I'm going to e-mail it to you as well) I promised I would send you the address of the Cyber Cafe that I was able to get on line at while I was in NYC.

It was directly across the street from the Milford Plaza in with the Nathan’s Hotdog place was.  Remind me to tell you a story about Nathan’s hotdog.  Well, Nathan’s shrimp really.

CyberCafe

705 8th Ave (bet. 44 & 45 Street)
New York, NY  10036
212/ 245-3907

15 minutes (minimum)  $3.20

Printing  $.50
Fax
Local  212 & 718 (per page)  $1.00
USA & Canada (first page)    $3.95
International (first page)         $7.95

There is also a one year membership that costs $49.99 and gets you

7 hours free
30% Discount thereafter
1 free hour every other 10 hours

I did find another place but much further away from the hotel.  It was $2.00 for 15 minutes but it would have been to far to walk everyday.  It was down from the Police Station in Times Square.  Down towards the post office (sorry I don’t remember the street name!)

Lord, I'm in Chatty Cathy mode tonight.  I wish we could have chat tonight, I feel like talking.  I don't know why but I can’t seem to type fast enough to keep up with everything that wants to come out of my “mouth”.

Contrary to what most may think, Space Mountain is one of the slowest ride ever created: it's because one rides it in almost complete darkness that it seems fast.....
