Well, you've read the notes, the notes were scary, and now it is time for you to post until the scary cows come home.

I've survived the first week back at work.

I can't take a nap whenever I choose so I'm a bit tired in the afternoon but otherwise it went well.

At least I get the 16th off for MLK day.

TOD

CD - Bernard Herrmann at Fox - enough music to keep me going for weeks, if not months.
DVD - A Somg to Remember (new UK Sony/Columbia Classics DVD) - silly but entertaining.

Last night was another night spent in the emergency room with the SAME difficulty with my father - only I had different companions.

He is going to see the specialist on Monday - hopefully early.....so we shall see.

I hate computer problems.....it makes me feel so helpless.....because if you don't know what you are doing, you can make things worse....and I have a few "experts" around here who always want to step in.....

So far so good on my Sony that I have had about a year - which I really like.  And Norton seems to really stop any attacks, although it sometimes interferes with some web sites....

I just can't bring myself to change over to APPLE - I guess I am not creative enough.

Good morning, all!

I had a night of FOLLIES-like dreams: a terrifying nightmare that dragged me out of bed at 12:30am about the ghosts at grandmother's and home and, before the alarm went off, a long dream about my high school reunion occurring in Manhattan, a subway stop miles underground, my working for a Barnes&Noble-NYPL combo, and friends I've not seen since 1964. DR Ginny and Richard put in an appearance, as did my cellist friend Ann, Dr Swisher's daughter, and Dan Strickland, who appears to have vanished from the alumni records.

Today, I am back to City Center for another round with Joshie on MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG. I need some time here to finish up the German lyrics and the Act One work on ROBERTA so I can dive into DEAREST ENEMY. Where is the time going?

BK, I'm glad your computer story had a happy ending.

More coffee!

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that you are likely to hear from someone from your past in the next three days....probably tomorrow....and that it will be a mixed message.

You are also likely to receive a job offer that is a little off the beaten path, but it is one that you should seriously consider.

Travel may be involved in both cases.

Sorry to hear about your computer problems, bk. I feel the same as you, which is why I have started keeping things I need backed up on Google-docs. They're not the easiest files to work with, but they exist in my private account there. So, I can always get to them from another computer.

BK,

I'm glad your scary experience turned out okay.

I'm also glad that I work on a laptop.

I would hate to have to lug one of those heavy Apple desktops through a mall.

I don't really have much on my computer that I REALLY need to keep. But my son set me up with Jungledisk, which is where I click and drag stuff I really want to keep. Jungledisk is $3 per month for a certain amount of space, and it is up in the clouds somewhere. I also have an email account that I use to email stuff to myself. Like minutes and stuff.

DR JRand61, wow! That's all quite exciting. I wonder who it will be.

DR Laura, it sees to me that, rather than pay Jungledisk $3.00/moth, buying an external hard drive for a set amount would set you up for life.

Having actually seen the mercifully short run of THE WILD PARTY, I can only say that you are a braver man than I. It was one of the more putrid theatrical events I've seen in this lifetime.

DR TCB,

When you emailed amazon.com about your problem did you email the regular customer service or the kindle customer service?  I ask because the latter is very helpful and the former is not.

I would definitely email the kindle CS. They have been very helpful to me.

I am sure you can return the book and get your money back. But i'll bet the kindle CS will help you.
