Good morning, all! I slept fitfully, with several dreams based on my anxieties about today's meeting about getting permissions to record a show very dear to my heart. The meeting's at 11.

Before then, i shall work a bit here and then head down to Toyland for my weekly visit to check on the place and to use the scanner to send a file. The meeting's a block away from the Toyland, so I'll walk over there around 10:45. After the meeting, I'll head home and continue my work to prepare for tomorrow's meeting.

CD: a lot of Vernon Duke, Jacques Offenbach, Guy Haines, Victor Herbert's The Fortune Teller

Mr Darryl F. Zanuck produced WILSON - an BIG expensive movie about Woodrow Wilson. They premiered it in Zanuck's hometown of Wahoo, Nebraska, with lots of stars in attendance. The theatre was packed.

The next day - NOTHING. Zanuck asked why.....local man said: "These people wouldn't pay a nickel to see Wilson alive, why would they pay twenty five cents to see a movie about him?"

And that's the way I feel about Margaret Thatcher......and sort of why I couldn't get into Frost/Nixon - I had seen it happen, why would I want to see two people pretending to be them?

I'm of the same mind. I never liked Ms Thatcher's politics so why would I want to see a film about her?

Can you lean your nook against something? I often lean my kindle up against a kleenex box on my bed and put something heavier behind it. Then i don't even have to hold it! (I"m lazy but it might be good for your shoulder).

I am almost finished the Lisa Garnder ebook. Just 20% more (and i think a lot of that is a preview of the next book).

Ditto. Didn't care for them while they were in office--don't want to watch a movie that shows me what might have made them tick.

I did enjoy NIXON IN CHINA, though. So maybe if they made a movie in which Thatcher sang, I would go see that. THE IRON LUNG LADY...
