After the show  Jose was graciously waiting for me in the lobby and he escorted me to the Landmarc where FJL awaited - we were joined by former DR Jason and elmore and sat down to a lovely meal  and fun conversation

Wish I could have joined you.

LOL, you guessed correctly.  I think you did.  I don't remember who owned the original ship for the Disney cruise.

Hmm, I want to say Discovery, but I don't think that is right.

Could be.  It was the "red" ship or something like that.

That's right.  The Big Red Boat.  It was Premier Cruises.  One of the first Cruise lines I travelled.

DR TCB how did the guy survive?

The guy basically treaded water for fourteen hours, and he finally deciided to just let go.  So he started swallling water and let himself drift down below surface.  He said he suddenly saw a light and swam back to the surface determined to survive.  I little while later he spotted a freighter and started yelling and swimming toward them until they spotted him.  All together in was in the shark-infested water for seventeen hours.

Amazing!  Thank goodness for the freighter.

Indeed!  Thank goodness someone on the freighter was paying attention.

Yes.  It was very nice except I was semi bored.  Keith discovered black jack on the cruise & the kids played video games most of the time.  Did you enjoy your cruise?  The crew & passengers where very nice & there was a great band I spent a lot of time listening to.

How can the Evangelical Christians be supporting Newt Gingrich?  The man has admitted to cheating on his first two wives.

The people on the religious right are idiots, complete fools.

I've been watching Doris Day and James Cagney in WEST POINT STORY, a completely assinine movie with great musical numbers and a fantastic cast. If I were Samuel Goldwyn, I would have cast Cagney and Virginia Mayo as Nathan Detroit and Miss Adelaide. They seem so much better suited to the roles than Sinatra and Blaine.

I have been having a hard time deciding whether or not to buy an alto flute at our local music store.  I have always wanted one.  Of course since I went years and years without playing any flute, it was on the far back burner, but now....well....it costs lots more than I want to spend, but the price is as cheap if not cheaper than any I've found on the net and it's a good flute.   I'll have to put most of it on a credit card, which I don't want to do.....so, tomorrow I'm taking in my Ovation acoustic/electric guitar to see what they'll give me on a trade in.   Hopefully it will be enough to convince me to go for it.

The fun part was when I went in the store and asked to play it.  The clerk started telling me how different it is from a c flute and when she was mid sentence I picked it up and just started playing it.  Her eyes got really big and she said she'd never seen anyone pick the alto flute up and immediately be able to play it that well.  By the look on her face, I could tell she meant it.  She said it's rare that someone tries it who has actually played an alto before.

Finished with my viewing.  I was a writing demon today - maybe thirty pages.  I don't know whether what I'm doing is good or not, but I believe I've had a little epiphany about the way to go from here.

I have not fully caught up with the posts, but I'll start with

Sorry to hear of the loss of Larry's friend. My sympathies.

Healthy kidney vibes to John G. Indeed, good health all around.

I hope JRand's dad is doing better, that Doug's broadband is behaving itself, that Laura's knee is all well now, and welcome home to Jane!

Thank you, Jeanne.

Sounds like the flute was telling you it needed to go home with you.

Good Evening!

Well...

Since I found out about an hour ago that there's a dance audition for The Music Man tomorrow morning/later today at 10:00am...

I don't have to go since the New York casting director had already hired pianist to play for the day, but since I am staff, I figure I should drop by.

In any case...
