Well, you've read the notes, the notes made a notes where there never was a notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they've just made some cows where there never was a cow.

Good morning, all! Last night was a lot of bizarre dreams: working at the Miami University Library; schlepping about Miffletown, OH; sitting at a library table reading and trying to decipher what a former friend was reading at the table next to mine and, after deciphering that it was Murger's Scenes de la vie de boheme, why he was reading it; before the alarm went off, I dreamed that I was rifing on a crowded bus and moved over to make room for a young lady to sit.

I cannot find on this Mac keyboard the symbol I need to make a grave accent for my e's! HELP!

BK, what a speedy little cuss you are! I can't wait to read it. And DR cillaliz is becoming the James Galway of Sioux City.

Today, I have to attend the orchestra reading of the new orchestrations for MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, and it will be fun to spend time with Rob, Joshie, Bruce Pomahac and Jonathan Tunick. Before I leave, I have work to do on both the Herbert songs release and DEAREST ENEMY.

More coffee, and to work.

Today,

Cedar allergies still have me feeling ragged.  Hope they clear a little later today.

Yesterday, I got out of town to do a story and the air was much clearer there than in the city. The temperature was about 80 and the sun finally came out (it had been foggy until mid-afternoon). It was the most un-January-like day I can remember.

TOD: So many things for which I am grateful, but finishing a book last month was near the top of the list.

BK, you had asked for our favorites of your albums recently and I discovered one yesterday that didn't make my list. I was looking for another CD and game across the recording of "Bed and Sofa." It may not be my favorite musical of all time, but I love the fact that I have a recording of it.

So that's where the curious symbol is located!  Thanks, DR JRand61.

I wrote about my kindle:

I do like it for books i can't get otherwise. And i had no idea that i could check my email or update my goodreads account. So i like that part.

Do you have a kindle keyboard or just the regular kindle? I'm curious if people without the kindle keyboard (what i have) can check their email or go on the internet. What do they use to type words?

DR Jane, I finished CATCH ME by Lisa Gardner last night. Really liked it.

Only one question. Which of her other books have you read? I think you're up to date on the D.D Warren series? But have you read any of the FBI Profiler series? The reason I ask is that a few characters from her other books appear briefly in this book. Quincy and his daughter (from the FBI Profiler series) talk to D.D over the phone. But they mention stuff about their lives/relationships that could be considered minor spoilers for that series if you haven't read it.

I received the absolute oddest email last night from a very well known silent film historian with whom I had been in contact some time ago about a release he supervised.  Last night he forwarded me the weirdest email, very long and incredibly detailed, from a professor on Vanuatu (no, I'm not kidding) about some silent films I had never heard of which were found in Vanuatu (no, I'm not kidding), with his added comment:  FYI.  Okey-dokey, then, so glad I'm up to speed.  :)

DR Jane mentioned she was looking for something to read. This mystery thriller which is usually $13.99 is free on both amazon and nook for a very limited time. It's supposed to be sort of like John Grisham.
