Grabbed some eggs and a bagel, picked up two packages and I'm home.  Just two more singers have to pick up their packages.

I've written, run errands, made some chicken soup with the produce I got at the market, and I'm ready to write some more.

Jane, it's drizzly and foggy here, which is actually pretty if you're looking at it through the windows. And on our campus there are plenty of deer out there munching away.

But I must say your photos make me want to be under a palm tree with an icy drink and a good book.

I've had a delightful afternoon at my second knitting class followed by some shopping.  The scarf I started last week is almost finished and Cathy (one of the teachers) and I decided how that will proceed and she set me up for my next project.  It's another scarf that's a sampler of different fancy stitches.

The last photo we took before it began to rain.  We also had to check out of our room & wait until we could be transported to the ship.  We did a lot of waiting at the hotel.

Well, if you had to wait this is certainly a beautiful place to do it!  I've enjoyed all your photos, Jane.

I bought a plane ticket today. It was so nice to see that the fare shown online included all taxes and fees.

DR TCB - this is the book I got yesterday.

It's interesting with LOTS of pockets with extras.....and nice oversized pictures.  Unfortunately, the author is a Lordite and that sort of ruins the last part of the text.....

Yes, that would pretty much do it for me as well.  Thanks for the warning.

Sergio's up for Best Original Song, and I'll bet he wins!

I would give him a 50 / 50 chance.

For DR TCB,

If you have a kindle keyboard:

This is what i do.

Turn wireless on.

Hit menu and choose "experimental".

Hit "launch browser".

I bookmarked my gmail and my goodreads. So by clicking on bookmarks i can go to any of those sites Twitter too. I can't do facebook. For some reason it doesn't want to load properly.

Thanks, Jennifer.  I will have to give that a try.

Considering that this is only January, that appears to be faint praise.

Looks like Best Supporting Actor is going to be the biggest contest (IMHO, anyway).  I know current sentiment is probably for Christopher Plummer, but I have a hunch Nick Nolte is going to win.
And my sentimental choice would be Max von Sydow for giving a silent performance (in a year of praising silents) and for career achievement. True, he didn't sing over the Alps with small children ... But maybe that's in his favor.

However, I would be willing to wager that DR George has a Swedish Cast Recording of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, with or with out Mr. von Sydow.

Well, guess I'll be visiting Facebook even less - just do my updates and goodbye because I HATE the new look.

 ;D  ::)

I've asked a FB friend who switched how she likes it & what control she has over it.  Since she is in the Netherlands I haven't had a response yet.  She is a photographer so I wasn't surprised she had switched.  Her husband didn't.

Met Steve for the weekly drink and meal. I had the roast of the day which was beef with roast and mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddiing, carrots and green beans.

Except for the beef, yum.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Richard and I went out last night and bought anniversary presents for each other - he bought me a washer and I bought him a dryer  ;)  Isn't that romantic?
Clean clothes can certainly assist romance.

LOL!

Richard has been going to the laundromat about once a week since our washer conked out on Dec. 12.  We decided to wait until the January sales to deal with it.  And, to be honest, we've often made a household purchase for our anniversary since it comes on the heels of both birthdays and Christmas.

Isn't it interesting that since Martin Luther King's Birthday has become a national holiday, we no longer refer to them as the January White Sales.

Btw, I just found out today that there are 2 hidden games on my kindle keyboard (check they may be on your kindle too).

If you press Alt+Shift+M there are 2 games (mindsweeper and another game). Love these games!

I'm not sure that is the way they tell people to do it (it wasn't written that way in the tutorial i read). But i find it easiest. I think you can just turn on the wifi and then google whatever page you want to go to.
