I don't think I know Clare Fischer's work well enough - must remedy that.

I am shocked and amazed.

Try to get his OOP album Thesaurus (there's a CD out, somewhat hard to find).

He did a ton of the early bossa nova records, probably as many as Ogerman.

It's gorgeous, with virtually no DNR.  :)

In other news, JRB and Shoshana Bean are in town to celebrate the opening of 13 here.

DR JMK et al - Have you been following JRB's Billy Joel "project"? He's been covering songs from "The Stranger". Three tracks so far. Some pretty cool stuff.

That is pretty cool. :)

WIT with my friend Zachary Spicer opened on Broadway last night.  Looking at the reviews, I guess he was "also in the cast."

Didn't even see his photo in the opening night group.

JRand, Congrats to your friend, Zachary!

It's also another Spring-like Winter Day here in New York City. The current temp: 52.

It was pretty darned cold this morning...frost was everywhere.  I didn't have any trouble getting into my car, but my emergency brake was frozen! :o So, I had to drive to work with a slight drag on the speed. ::)

It'll be defrosted and disengaged by lunch time, later this afternoon.

From DR Jennifer:

DR Jane if you liked the Perfect Husband ... well the FBI profiler series only gets better and better as you get to know the main characters better and their stories develop. I love this series.

I didn't like it as much as the DD Warren series.  I'm glad you said they get better, which I suspected to be the case.  I have added them to my wish list at the library for eBooks.

I decided to read these before reading CATCH ME, which so far is not available through the library eBooks.  While browsing Barnes & Noble for it they recommended an Iris Johansen book since I like Lisa Gardner.  Have you read her?  B & N has her books for $7.99 each & then I found the next four books, 8-11, in the Eve Duncan series I have yet to read. The price was only  $19.99 for the book collection.  I started reading book 8 last night.

BIG spike in sales for my Carole Lombard play this month.

I guess it's because that January 16th was the 70th anniversary of her death.

I don't think I saw a Carole Lombard movie until I was in my 30s, and I fell immediately "in love" with her.

She was the greatest!

From DR Jose:
Quote
I'm kind of surprised at how some washing machines do not have a fully adjustable water levels. My parents have "new" machines, but the water level settings are "small", "large" and "extra large". -And, I swear, the "small" setting provides just enough water to wash six pairs of socks. Meanwhile, "large" is, well, "large". Where's my "medium" setting?

My machine sets the water level automatically.  I read a number of complaints regarding machines that do this & was somewhat concerned about it.  So far I'm pleased with the water levels in the loads & haven't had a problem with soap residue.

Great news. She was so gifted. When they showed "My Man Godfrey" at the grad school symposium I attended last fall, I fell for her all over again.

I wouldn't combine computer work and laundry. Gets a little messy.
