TOD:

Jack Benny - We used to listen to his radio show when I was a kid.

Abbott & Costello - As I recall the first movie I saw of theirs was A & C IN HOLLYWOOD, BUCK PRIVATES COME HOME and MEXICAN HAYRIDE.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I slept in today and now I'm rushing to be ready to leave about 12:30 for my final beginner knitting class.  Today I need to learn to "unknit," because I messed up a pattern...

DR Jose, I will most likely get one ticket for the dress rehearsal; that's been the practice in the past. My only complaint with the City Center - not Encores! - distribution is that the ones who work on the show end up with the lousiest seats since the good ones are set aside for donors, etc. Since I'm giving them my best work at a discount and it's a big 50% discount on this production because I wanted to help Josh out, my feeling is that all of us working on the production deserve better treatment.
.

DR elmore - No worries. Hopefully, City Center and Encores! will coordinate their comp policy for their staff members - especially since this production is running for two weeks instead of one.

Next Tuesday will be kind of a crazy day for me already. I fly back from Memphis that morning, and then go right into auditions for The Music Man, and then... I may just need to sit down for a nice relaxing dinner.

Oy, did I have a weird dream, one that would crash JR's machine.  :)  It's way too convoluted to go into detail over, but suffice it to say a major part entailed Betsy morphing into Debra Messing (no, I'm not kidding), and then me telling Debra I was leaving her.  That was just the beginning.  :)

Apparently, Spring is back in the air today here in NYC - it's currently in the mid-50s, so...

I would think that would be many a gentleman's reaction even in real life.

TOD:

The usual suspects--Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Lucy, Jackie Gleason.  All first seen on TV during my youngen years.

I also love the Marx Brothers.  But while I was aware of them when I was young, I didn't really appreciate them until I was in college.

Personally, I think Shirley MacLaine on DOWNTON ABBEY could be a hoot, especially pairing her off with Dame Maggie.

I agree.  Since we have to wait for the DVD I'm sure opinions will be shared long before we watch it.

I am back from Encores! I stopped down on the third floor to say howdy to Rob Berman and Peter Lawrence, the stage manager, and I got to see the end of Act One: Beth's "Not A Day Goes By" and a bit of "Now You Know."

Today, I'm trimming the notes on the 19 lieder on Disc 1, writing stage band charts for ROBERTA, nd going through all sorts of angst over everything.

My concern about MacLaine coming to DOWNTON ABBEY is the build up that she is going to be a foil for Maggie Smith.  Does this mean we are going to lose Cousin Isobel to the war?

Angst whilst writing ROBERTA arrangements?  I'm hearing "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" as played by Jack Benny on his violin.

Jack Benny to a little boy who says he plays the violin: "Do you play like I do?"

Little Boy:  "I used to."

Back from knitting class, where I graduated from the beginner class and signed up for a new class and new project.  Also finished my first beginner project and got some help on my second beginner project.
