Good morning, all! I have a part o my day at the McGlinnventory, hopefully the last time before this fershlugganah sale gets underway, and i am so hoping the sale sells a lot and clears out the space!

I had truly weird dreams last night, the last featuring DR Ginny, both of my brothers, and my dad. It was truly, truly a weird dream. All I remember is DR Ginny walking down Seventh Avenue (?) perhaps it was Central Avenue in Middletown, OH, and then driving me to the hospital and listening to the radio so loudly that I couldn't speak on the phone to 911.

The rest of my day is tied up with DEAREST ENEMY, a trip to Toyland, and fixes to the notes. And Zach's biography. That's enough.

We watched THE HOUR last night.

That's the BBC series that was nominated for a Golden Globe.

Good show, but I really think they "stole" the three leading characters from BROADCAST NEWS.

When I was a child CBS had a program Sunday afternoon that showed family orientated films from around the world. The two most memorable films were "The Red Ballon" and "Fatty and Skinny" (I think that was the name. It was from Japan.)

An interesting fact is that The Red Baloon won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the shortest film to do so. Also it was the first film (And I believe the only one so far) that did not have any kind of dialogue to win the award. That includes silent films that had intertitles

We finished the "regular" episodes of DOWNTON ABBEY last night and moved on to the "Christmas Special," which is in effect the ninth episode of the second season, picking up from the end of the eighth. I correctly predicted several plot developments well before they happened, which is usually my sign that a series is becoming. . .predictable.

For those who have jumped the monkey and have finished watching the second season of "Downton Abbey" (on home video) while others are still watching on PBS, please be careful about comments...even non-specific ones...that put questions in our minds as to what you are "not saying" that might spoil our fun at seeing them with pre-anxieties about said comments.

DR Ron I'm surprised the DVD for the entire 2nd season is available when you are still watching it on PBS. NetFlix shows it as a very long wait so you might finish watching before we receive the DVD.

I find this whole "spoiler" business (which now seems to be growing to "don't post NON-spoilers"

) just silly. DOWNTON ABBEY was capitalized before any comment of any import was made. Skip the post for heaven's sake. I have stayed out of this spoiler fracas when it's erupted before but I just can't believe a joke (a joke!) that "spoils" NOTHING is considered objectionable. End of rant.

My goodness! The "joke" post wasn't the reference to which I was alluding!

You mentioned seeing the "Christmas" episode which hasn't aired as you state it's the 9th episode of the 2nd Season. We've had 5 episodes aired, thus far, in Season 2. You then wrote: "I correctly predicted several plot developments well before they happened, which is usually my sign that a series is becoming. . .predictable." I haven't seen that episode, and your post makes it seem that the show's developing story arc hinges on what you saw in this episode.

"Downton Abbey" has yet to become predictable...for me. You may have been talking about Season One, but your comment came after mention of an episode (the ninth) from Season Two. I relish my Sunday evening visits with "Downton" and your comment seemed to be saying, "You're going to find it becoming tiresome." If that isn't a spoiler, it's a bummer. Do note that I said nothing about posting "Spoiler" on your post...only to take care with comments you make about things we, as a group, haven't likely yet seen. Naturally, we'd expect "Spoiler" atop any post you make that actually contains spoilers.

So who groks the sequences of your train of thought?
