I got home later than I thought. Saw the tribute to those that passed . Glad we didn't hear any of the audience applause.

Was Meryl Streep a surprise of Viola Davis?

Midnight In Paris, Hugo and The artist were the only best picture nominees I saw. Glad the Artist won.

Glad to see that Christopher Plummer was honored.

Esperanza Spalding

I thought she sang very nicely. But the segment hurt my eyes. My eyes are sensitive. And they had the screen all bright white most of the time. It just really hurt my eyes to watch it.

Well, I'd love to stay and party, but Richard and I are both due for blood tests and we're going first thing in the morning.  His test is fasting, so we're going out for breakfast when we're finished.

I wonder if i would like the Artist. From everything I see about it, it just doesn't seem like it would be my type of movie. But so many people love it.

Richard gave me MIDNIGHT IN PARIS for Christmas - well, the movie.  He gave me five actual midnights in Paris back in October...

LOL!  There are 6 of us tied with 10 out of 12 right (I also missed the tie breaker)  Since everyone else had all of them right, maybe we all missed the tie breaker.  Wonder what they do then

Hmmm, it says some guy from Pennsylvania won, he had the same answer I did to the tie breaker.

Oh, the rules say if there is no one who gets the tie breaker right the computer randomly picks a winner.  Oh well.

I know Facebook isn't nearly that much fun, but several of our used to be dear readers do nothing but post there, and that includes this very evening.  I don't know what they get out of it, frankly, since they're not really interacting with anyone, like we do here.  It's like taking the idea of this without the point.  But Facebook makes it all about them, which is, I suppose, appealing for those that need that :)

Enjoyed the Oscars, but didn't enjoy the host this year. I have liked Billy Crystal in previous years, but he just wasn't given good stuff this time around.

George Clooney and Jean Dujardin both looked lovely....but what was with that living skeleton sitting next to Brad Pitt?

Looking forward to the Iranian picture that won. Saw the trailer for it when I saw THE ARTIST, and it looked very good. I hadn't realized it was up for an award(s).

There were a few movies up for awards that I was not familiar with...and now I must see A BETTER LIFE. Just that short clip for Best Actor got me teary eyed.

I'm home after a good show.  We're now dark until Thursday.  The only problem is that I can't find my wallet!! :o After the show, I couldn't find it with my stuff in the dressing room.  I thought that I might not have brought it with me because I balanced my checkbook earlier today, but it's not here at my computer where I remember where I had it last...as far as I can remember.  I sent a text to our stage manager and she'll meet me at the theater tomorrow at 6:00.  HOPEFULLY, it'll be there.  Fortunately, I keep my driver's license in my checkbook, but I had about $30 cash and my debit and other cards in my wallet.

Say what you will about Sacha Baron Cohen, his "bit" with Ron Paul is priceless.  Priceless.

I thought that it was hysterical!  But then, I like Sacha Baron Cohen. ;)
