I'm sure you know that's three too many for the devilish humor on display here.  ;)

I received in the mail a load of grey market DVDrs of old B movies....just watched THE SCARLET HOUR starring Carol Ohmart and Tom Tryon.

Wonderful plot! Would have been a great movie for Barbara Stanwyck.

I am wondering if this might be among the Paramount B movies that BK may be doing CDs from...it certainly had some nice, dramatic music

That looks really good. And with Nat "King" Cole as guest star and Michael Curtiz directing, it sounds like it has a few possibilities.

Except Tom Tryon looks like a corpse in that photo.

He is probably trying to do his best to not have to lock lips with a girl....if you get my drift.

THUNDERING JETS looks like it would be a good movie.

It was full of pretty boy actors, but it was dull, dull, dull!

One of the actors from THUNDERING JETS is the ever so handsome Barry Coe. Once of these days I need to crack open my dvd of 100 SPARTANS, in which he costars....I am thinking he would make a good gladiator.

I haven't purchased too many books on eBooks so I might be wrong.  What I've seen is that books already out in paperback are $12.99 & newer books are more.  Today I looked to see what eBooks are available by Kate Furnivall (I enjoyed THE RED SCARF by her) and was surprised to find her latest book, which will be released on 3/6 is only $9.99.  I'm curious if anyone has seen this type of pricing.

I'm not familiar with Nook pricing. but I'm quite familiar now with amazon pricing. And i have noticed that a lot of new books are now $9.99. Not sure if they realized that the prices they were charging were ridiculous. I really think that $10 is the most that should be charged for an ebook. But I still find it too expensive. Because the book deposistory is selling the same books new and harcover with free shipping for maybe $11. I think ebooks should be much cheaper than what it costs to get a hardcover.

Thanks Jennifer.  I had checked that the price was the same for the Kindle.  I was concerned the price might drop after the book comes out.  I prefer to wait to order it from my local store which doesn't offer a pre-order option.  I also found a $2.99 eBook from the author that isn't mentioned on her website.  I will likely give it a try & hope it is as good as the one from Lisa Gardner.

We are back from the Middfest fundraiser, where we saw many friends and some bad can-can dancing.

My friend's songs, which were quite wonderful, closed the first half of the concert, so I waited around for her, spoke to a couple of friends, and left as the second half began. I heard soe wonderful pianists and some good Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff I'd not heard before. But I was tired, and I am gld to be home.

I agree.  I can get a hardback book at goodwill for maybe two bucks and paperback for a dollar.  Much as I like to read, I do not have a nook or other type of reader, even though I can download them as free app on my phone.  For the price on one ebook, I can buy several and I always find something good to read.  Then I can either give the book back or take it to work and put it on the share shelf.

I feel the same way Danise, only these shoulders of mine insist I use the Nook instead.  Switching has greatly reduced the pain so it is worth the cost to me as much as a cringe every time I purchase an eBook.

Have a good evening!

Sorry to read about your friend, DR TCB.  I can only imagine who scary that must have been.  I know I was scared about flying home because of all the storms but other than leaving very late, it was ok.

Ok, I've got to share what was in my package......a used piccolo I got on eBay!  Our piccolo player in band may not be at the next concert, so I said if she can't be there I'd do it.   Then I got out my piccolo and let's just say it was great in a 250 member marching band outside, but inside it was pretty shrill on the high notes and it was actually pretty difficult to play.  So, I got a nice piccolo at a really good price. It was recommended to my by a local piccolo player as her standard go to piccolo.    It came today and is in perfect shape.  I'm very happy about it.  Now I'm comfortable that I have the horns I need to be able to play the way I want to play.  :)
How cool!  I didn't know you played.

I decided not to join that first response service after all.  I just kept thinking that it would create another bill that I can't really afford.  I will just try to keep my cell phone close at hand.

The only reason the Humane Society did not give its seal to HANNA was because the film was filmed in Germany, outside of its aegis:

I sincerely hope you are correct.

Back from a wonderful but VERY noisy dinner at Bird's.  I thought at 4:45 there would be no one there, but it was jammed (we got the last booth) and the volume level is ridiculous there - PLUS loud music.  But, oh, was the food great.  Melody, who doesn't like onion rings could not believe how great the Bird's onion rings are - and she ate about five of them.  Mom Hollis wasn't with us - she was a bit under the weather.
