This is turning out to be a fun season of SURVIVOR.  Is anyone watching?

Cat has to be one of the stupidest players EVER, and that's saying quite a bit.  :)

Did you mean Cats or an abbreviated, one-person rendition of the show?

TOD: I'm dreaming right now of butternut squash-stuffed ravioli in a brown butter sauce. And squid ink-black noodles with a medley of white seafood, such as squid, in a saffron-seafood stock. And rigatoni with a hearty tomato sauce and plenty of spicy sausage. And, as always, linguine with white clam sauce and an extra helping of clams in the shell.

I was talking about SURVIVOR and the idiot female Cat who was gobsmacked last night by a discussion about appendicitis, which she had never heard of.

Thursday morning greetings!  As predicted, Suzy and I got back from Columbus by midnight (just barely), but I was unable to get to sleep until about 4am.  Probably from drinking a latte in the Starbucks cafe while waiting for her at Barnes & Noble.  She kept apologizing for dragging me along, but it was worth it to see her so excited to meet someone whose blog she's been following since the beginning:

Suzy was equally excited to meet Ree Drummond's husband, fondly known as The Marlboro Man:

I'm sorry, but I read that as "play" not "player" though I think a one-person version of "Cats" is workable for, say, Toni Collette and the multiple personalities she could bring to the role. Toni IS Grizabella, Toni IS Gus, Toni IS Rum Tug Tugger, all in one show.

We had some snow last night but not enough to keep us from getting Sherlock to the vet this morning for his dental work.

Spring sure as hell hasn't sprung here--we're once again under about 8 inches of snow.  Incredible.

Do you mean March is not normally a month of snow and cold?

LOL!   I loved it when Jeff asked her about some strategy and all she said she was worried about was "catching appendicitis".   Like it was some transmissable disease!!!

I think it was "too soon" for what happened to happen.

I'm guessing it was a last-minute decision based on what actually happened during the episode.

Yes.   Don't you think Tarzan comes in a close second based on his tunnel vision alone?

Some of you may have seen this link but it's worth listening to just for the use of "hysterectomy" in a song lyric

Industrial Shows

It's a half-hour BBC radio documentary about industrial shows. It's interesting on it's own but there are also snippets of songs played and one of them (at about the 22:00 mark on the clock) references a hysterectomy.

It's only available to listen through Monday March 26 at about 5:30 (EST)

I'm up after a good night's beauty sleep.  The pool man was here but I have no idea if he put the new pump motor in or not - I guess I'll know in about an hour when it automatically should go on.

Old snow is falling in huge clumps off of the trees even as new snow is falling.  Welcome to the Pacific Northwest.

The last full score came through for DEAREST ENEMY, and the copyist has  neither had  a breakdwn nor throttled me. There's some potentially good casting news coming down the pike as well.

DR Danise, the new London production of SWEENEY TODD stars Michael Ball! Here's a photo from the production.

The cast recording can be preordered at www.amazon.co.uk or www.dresscircle.co.uk. :)
