Thank you for the vibes; the meeting went quite well, and we will be recording DEAREST ENEMY in August in Dublin. While there are things to be worked out, the hurdle is cleared and everyone's happy and excited. We've got Kim Criswell for Mrs Murray, and I'm hoping that we can get Julian Ovenden, who's recording a Rodgers & Hammerstein album next month, for our juvenile lead.

That would be spectacular. I still hear from people who saw him in "Death Takes a Holiday" rave about how amazing he and his voice was. Of course, he'll always be Foyle's son.

Don't ask me why, but I still have a very strong memory of an IT TAKES A THIEF episode that featured some goofy Eastern European attache who repeatedly picked up the phone and said, "Good-bye," in a sing-songy voice.

A bit of synchronicity--a commercial just came on for this product/site:

My books are in a huge disarray throughout the house. Which, when you consider more than 20 bookcases and books lining one side of the hallway, is a few books.

Anyway, I came across a copy of Ethel Waters' autobiography that I didn't know I had, alongside a Bert Williams bio, both of which book I can certainly use for class.

I don't want to open the Ethel Waters book or touch it anymore because I discovered that she had inscribed it. An autographed book of Ethel Waters! And I don't even remember where it came from.

He was quite wonderful in DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY. I'm sorry he didn't get to open the show.

I was delightfully surprised this morning when I discovered that I had sold a Kindle edition of my Orson Welles play in Spain.  This is the first time that one of my plays has sold in a non-English-speaking country.

While I was at Rodgers & Hammerstein, Ted Chapin gave me a copy of his "Stage Door Canteen" recording. I look forward to listening to it tomorrow morning.

No.  It was an event in the 92nd Street Y's "Lyrics and Lyricists" series last year.

I forgot Bunny Yeager, who captured the most wonderful images of Bettie Page.

I like a lot of George Platt Lynes' and Bruce Weber's  work, and I really love Richard Avedon.

I got a good review today for Mary Testa's arrangement of "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve" in last night's  NY Philharmonic Frank Loesser event.

I have absolutely no memory of writing it, nada, zilch, although I might have done it for the 1998 Symphony space concert.

Re-read "Rewind" on my trip this weekend.  Always better the second time.  I also purchased the Kindle version of the new book.  But I'm looking forward to my signed copy from the author, of course :)

This is from Australia's Got talent - an apprentice plumber does a strip but while not a great singer, for a stripper, he's not that bad a singer - and the judges let his "act' go on

Very entertaining, though maybe partly NSFW
