Percy Faith has a lovely version of the THEME FROM 'CHINATOWN', which looked for about 5 seconds like it was going to be his first big hit in several years.

DR Jane I am not sure if I understood what you meant. Did you want to move books you have read and rated to show you have read them?

Only that I was giving the books I've read ratings without indicating I was reading them.  I really haven't spent time exploring Goodreads to know my way around it yet.  When I open it I can see what my friends are doing & need to find where is shows what I'm doing.

Oh i thought you used goodreads more often.  The home page at the right side you can add what you are currently reading. When you are done you click done.  You can type any book you've read at the top and add the date you've read it.

I requested a book on netgalley today that I really really want. Sually it is only 50-50 that you get what you request. Although since I am not a blogger I probably have less of a chance.

I'm unfamiliar with this.

Netgalley is a site for bloggers/reviewers/librarians. Where you can get free ebooks in exchange for a review.

The thing is you don't always get accepted.

I just tried calling DR TCB & he didn't answer.  I left him a message.  Since he is moving tomorrow I might wait until Tuesday to call again.

We have 60 MINUTES set to record tonight.  I wonder if they managed a special episode tonight.  I'm kind of guessing they had one ready to go.

Yes.

I recently read it & thought it might be something you would read.  Is it considered a YA dystopian novel?  Did you like it?

We had a nice Easter dinner party with an interesting mix of guests - Rob and Mary Linda and my Mom, of course, along with Richard's brother and his wife, the wife of their late older brother, Rob & ML's friends Alison & Ryan, and our friend Betty.  While the party was going on we had phone calls from DNs Laura and Lauren.  And now I'm exhausted, trying to stay awake for MAD MEN.

We ate our Easter dinner at noon -- deviled eggs. Lots of them.

I liked it okay. I won it on goodreads. It probably would not have been something i would have chosen otherwise. Not really what i read. I do not think I would consider it YA or dystopian. But it has been a while since i read it. I am sure if you look on goodreads it would tell you what category they would put it in. Maybe fantasy.

We had a really good Melody rehearsal, my first chance to see it start to finish with the new material we've added, all of which will work well.  My notes today were all detail things, and figuring out what the new patter had to achieve to get us into the new numbers.  We added a few funny things today - that's my goal with this show - to make it a little funnier than the previous show.  Melody's comedy chops have been incredible in the recent Kritzerland shows and I want to make sure we're showing that side off really well.

We then had supper at the Sherman Oaks Marmalade - and exactly true to my memory, nothing there was as good as the meals I've eaten at other Marmalades - it was all okay, but the other branches are a hundred times better, hence no more Sherman Oaks Marmalade ever.

Well, the last of the guests have left and the bird has been freed from his cage. He's one very happy camper.

The party was great. What I want to know is, how do people eat and eat and eat and I always wind up with more food than when I started?

We had ham and clams and shrimp and too many salads and scalloped potatoes, yams, mashed caulilflower, deviled eggs, relishes for miles, and the desserts: colomba (an Italian Easter bread), almond-amaretto cake, brownies, a raspberry tart, dark chocolate, cheeses ...

And the wines. My favorites were a 1991 Bert Simon Spatlase that was almost like honey in the glass and a dry 2002 Meridean Reserve Pinot Noir.

I wouldn't like the raspberry preserves.  You said they tasted good, did you mean the frosting?

Report later :)

The frosting is very good (of course, I made it ;)), but I meant that cupcakes that she's made in the past have been very good, so I am assuming that these will be, too.

She's made cupcakes of various flavors, so I don't know what she chose for this particular batch.

No tasting then, just frosting them.  OK, what flavor is the frosting?

The frosting was vanilla and the cupcakes turned out to be just vanilla, also.
