Maybe Miss Joanie Sommers would like to be a guest in a Kritzerland show.

Love my fellow Buffalonian, Joanie Sommers!

Hey, Kevin, my friend Alex in Middlesbrough met Brent, years ago. We were discussing Dance A Little Closer (Close a Little Faster) and I mentioned his wonderful duet in the show. She said

"Did I tell you I met Brent Barrett? When I went to see Grand Hotel I took recording equipment and did an interview for BBC..Lovely chap.. His dressing room was like a Turkish bordello...  velvet drapes and cigarette smoke( or maybe it wasnt cigarette) and a beautiful boy hovering... Very glam  He was very nice to interview."

Sadly, none of us know where Joanie Sommers is.  Nick Redman and I had lunch with her about five years ago, but she's moved again and we haven't been successful in tracking her down.  She wasn't doing well last we saw her.

Same here. I didn't have to do anything for the first one, though. Just attend. And wash dishes after the breakfast.

Happy Easter!

I thought of the movie "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" yesterday as it related to my trip to Buffalo.  When I fly out of Baltimore/Washington Aiport, I usually drive.  But this time, I'll be going to NYC and then back to Washington National Airport.

So I took a bus (5 minute ride) to the Washington Metro (subway).  Took Metro to Union Station.  Took an Amtrak train (destination Boston) to the BWI airport station.  Took the shuttle bus to the terminal.  Flew to Buffalo.  Got picked up by my brother.   And It only took about 6 hours.

I'm glad it truly didn't turn into a PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES, as in the movie. :)

I finished BK's book last night.

It's a good, entertaining read.  I learned a lot about the music business.

I'm reading it now & also learning a lot. :)

DR Jennifer now you have me keeping track of how many books I read in a week.  Last week it was three books, about half a book shy of the week before.  One of the books was over 800 pages.

I have BK's new book on my kindle, but have not started it yet. I just finished my net galley book which I have to review. It is called Mr. Broadway. It is the story of Jerry Schoenfeld (of the Shubert organization).  One thing which i found a little confusing is that the book was not completely chronological. I get why he did it - he told all the stories about one person in the same chapter. Is this how it is commonly done? It was a very interesting read though if you like theatre.

Hmmmm.....a NOT exhaustive search on the inner web seems to indicate that Miss Sommers moved to Buffalo NY - her home town.....but to get an address or phone number costs $2.

Not sure what is up with my library. They have tons of books (some of which have been put aside for two months) waiting for the FAST READS section. They assure me this will happen in less than two weeks.
