BUT the set has been put up....painting goes on today....and some technical work.....buzzers and telephone bells are being hooked up - and hopefully some of the lighting work will be done today as well.....but after all, we don't open for ten days.

Tonight is the Act One run thru.....which because we can only have one intermission - it includes Act One Scenes One & Two and Act Two Scene One....

Not MR BK'S favorite thing to do to a play, I know.

Wasn't there discussion here recently about another three-act play that had only one intermission?

And the word of the day is: MUMPSIMUS!
I saw that musical. I could never understand how it won the Tony.

And never turned a profit.

That's how Cincinnati Opera did the PORGY & BESS that Richard and I saw last week.

Congrats to bk and the Sterlings crew for a successful show last night.

I think a Bacharach show would be best.  While we know and love Laurie Beechman, how known was she on the west coast, and are the people that patronize these monthly shows familiar enough with her work to fill the place.  But then again, what do I know :)

I'm off to camp.  The Aida group is on their own, and today I begin the 8-12 kids with Dear Edwina Jr.  It's a great piece by Marcy and Zina, can't wait to start.

Nice TCB.  Reminds me of what I said in Legally Blonde auditions when my pal Mark was playing for me (bless his heart) and someone said "Ok, go over this piece with Matthew and Mark" and I immediately said, "Luke and John were on their way".  Mark took about 5 seconds to "get it".

Jrand, why aren't you allowed to have two intermissions?  It can't have anything to do with the orchestra working into overtime.  If that is theater rule, then remind me not to attend if your theater company decides to do THE RING CYCLE.

I have no idea why I got up before six this morning.  Even Nicky wasn't ready for eating his breakfast that early.  I guess it just seemed really early because with the heavy cloud cover, it was darker than usual.

I think Ginny must have gone off and left herself signed in to HHW.

No, DR TCB, I'm still here!  I've been on the phone with Amanda, my cardiologist's nurse.  Wanted to verify that Dr. Jain had really said I could go off Plavix when I pass the 2nd anniversary of my heart attack (Aug. 3).  She confirmed that and said to take it through the 20th.  That's great news because it's one of the meds that causes me to bruise and it's the most expensive.

TOD - BK, I was going to suggest a Bacharach show last week when you asked about albums of yours that should be shows, but I couldn't remember if you'd already done that.  You sent me that CD as a sparkling prize for answering a trivia question or something and I love it!

BK, I have no suggestion on which show to do  next, but I do hope that someday you do a Bacharach show when I am in LA!

For those who might be interested...and you know who you are...TCM has a wonderful new four film release titled WOMEN IN DANGER. Here ar the titles included (two of these movies are my most faves!)

FEMALE ON THE BEACH with Joan Crawford and Jeff Chandler (oh, and Ed Fury  8) )

THE UNGUARDED MOMENT with Esther Williams, George Nader, and John Saxon.

WOMAN IN HIDING with Ida Lupino, Stephan McNally, Howard Duff, and Peggy Dow.

PRICE OF FEAR with Merle Oberon, Lex Barker, and Charles Drake.

It is nice to see that Universal is, little by litte, releasing some of their 1950s gems!

The set is currently on sale at WWW.SHOP.TCM.COM

Had another lunchtime reunion get together. The problem with drinking lunchtime is that I end up catching the wrong train home! Finally made it back home after several train changes.

DR TCB - we only have one intermission because.....at intermission time - ALL 198 people try to go to the bathroom at the same time......

I did do the second intermission for one play....I forget which one....several seasons ago.....the Popcorn/Pepsi stand was only open for the first one....and everyone was confused as to why the house lights were up.....is it over????

So even if a play is written as a three-acter....we do it with only ONE INTERMISSION.

MR BK mentioned when he saw THE BEST MAN that he was glad it was done the proper way.

If he were planning to see THE CURIOUS SAVAGE, I would indeed play it as it lays.

I'm up, I'm up.  I was, in fact, up at six.  I just stayed in bed and I guess I fell back asleep around eight and slept until the doorbell rang about ten minutes ago - the fellow I work with on certain projects was bringing me the files on two of them to send to the mastering guy.

I had to draw "Luke" in Draw Something this weekend.  That was hard!

Wow!  Ida gets top billing on that set!  I'll bet that Joan is gnashing her teeth!

I watched WOMAN IN HIDING last week on TCM.  It was hard to get into until Ida actually went into hiding.
