August 19th sounds good, but (not to be difficult) we are talking early evening (6 or 7 or 7:30) correct, not 9pm or later?

Ugh!  Like DR Ben, I'm coming off of a three day cold.  I could feel it coming on over the weekend when everything seemed to irritate me (moreso than normal.)  I slogged my way to work on Monday but by day's end I was out of it.  I've pretty much been in either a NightQuil or DayQuil stupor the past two days...

That's not being difficult at all.  Early evening sounds right.  BK- you have recording the next day, don't you?

Good morning, all.

Slept very decently, but I'm still on a too-late schedule in general.  Must work on getting things moving (things like the ol' bloomin' arse) and stuff accomplished earlier in the day.

Over the weekend I notified two friends I could think of off the top of my head who stood a chance of wanting the "Follies" CD -- and neither has responded.  Summer vacations?  Mad at the world?  Who knows.  But I did my duty.  My duty is done.

I posted of my adventure with the LP late last night.  In summary, the sound was not only DOA, I had a warped-sounding off-center pressing.

Everyone was going cheap on pressings by this time.  I love the nice Capitol discs of the late 1950s, early 1960s, with the rainbow on black label design.

I started listening to FOLLIES Saturday afternoon, but as an early indicator of my coming cold, I just didn't feel like listening to music--any music.  I'll find the time this evening to allow myself to indulge in it.

TOD: A restaurant in town serves a perfectly decadent potato-crusted halibut that's all crackly outside and soft, wonderful seafood at the center.

Sole is best with anything butter-based.

Salmon? I think I prefer it as sashimi, just simply cut and presented with a touch of daikon and pickled ginger on the side. Or maybe grilled. Or maybe sauteed. Or just gimme.

TOD

I'm pretty inexperienced at cooking fish, just for lack of thinking to do it often enough.  But even this early in the day, it's sounding good, so maybe I'll pick up some What Is It, Fish for tonight.

As far as choosing it and deciding how to prepare it, I'm terrible at that and usually have to ask for advice.  And then I invariably love it.  In fact, I can't think of a time I didn't invariably love it.  So I'm hoping I'll find some of that lovely kind of advice right here today.

Visited the massive shopping mall next to the Olympic site this morning (I had to go by train because parking is prohibited whilst the Olympics are taking place due to security restrictions) and, not surprisingly, it was absolutely heaving with people.

Thursday morning greetings!  I'm in a bit of a rush, because I have to be in the northern Cincinnati 'burbs at 12:30 for my Zentangle class, followed by my Copic Marker class.  Have a couple of stops to make along the way.

Yes. congrats to DR GINNY who now has a Major in the family.

And congrats to DR JOHN G on being on sale at Costco.

Good news about Sheena from DR DANISE.

Looks like DR JOSE is getting back in the swing of things in NYC.

DR CHAS SMITH - my FOLLIES LP played a bit funny.....but then I realized that it was because it was the first record I had played on this CD/phono system, and I hadn't removed the twist tie from the tone arm....

After I did that it played normally.....although one of the things I did check was to see if the hole was in the middle of the record....it was.

Just wanted to say this on a first page, as I think it got lost in a weird page placement last night (my fault)

May I ask folks in the New York area to mark down the evening of

SUNDAY AUGUST 19

as an evening BK will be in town as a likely

JOE ALLEN'S GATHERING NIGHT

I cannot make it. I will be in Dublin, but I send my best to all!

Will our DR MBarnum now become a Broadway stalker? I shudder to think of it!

I would happily see him in something.

Thanks to DR Matthew for his review of "Les Mis".   I was contemplating going, but now I won't.  I hate "those" voices of which you spoke.

"It Didn't Suck" was a fine capsule review, Matthew.

May I adopt it as the title of my life's story?
