Had a nice e-mail from Hal Prince - what a gentleman he is, kind of the opposite of other people on that creative team.  He just wrote to say he'd heard it arrived but is out of town and that he can't wait to hear it and thanked me for doing it.  Class.

I still remember playing the auditions for the last major (Equity) tour of Evita a couple of years ago. During the series of callbacks, I kept hearing that "Hal will be coming in," but it wasn't until the day before "Hal" was supposed to come in, that I realized it was "Harold Prince" they were all talking about. Well... He was, as bk stated, a true gentleman. Yes, he had an aura that commanded respect, but he was also very approachable and quite talkative. It was fascinating observing him coach the Eva and Che "finalists". He not only gave each person some constructive criticism and adjustments, but also complimented each of them.

Good Evening!

Today was a day. A good day in many respects. And a strange/bad one too.

The good: Rehearsal. My follow-up with Chase Bank. Dinner at an Indian jernt near our rehearsal hall.

The bad: Finding out that one my roommates from the Anything Goes tour I was on passed away. Sadly, his death was attributed to some drug abuse. He was only 37. Rest In Peace, Jimmy.

Jose, my condolences to you and to Jimmy's family.

Oh, is that GOOD.  I haven't had a diet Dr. Brown's Cream Soda in a 'coon's age.  And I forget how great soda pop tastes from bottles.  I'm buying a bunch of these tomorrow.  I booked my transportation to the airport for Sunday and my return on Wednesday.

bk - Will you most likely be at Joe Allen and/or Angus McIndoe's and/or Brooklyn Diner on Monday or Tuesday night? If so, I can catch up with you then. -If I'm not too tuckered out from My Fair Lady auditions.

And...

Tomorrow is our "long day" of rehearsal. We're starting at 10:00am, and ending at 9:00pm - with a nice break for lunch in the middle. However, we don't start rehearsal on Thursday until 1:00pm, so... Yeah, I can sleep in!

Will definitely be at Joe Allen on Monday night at some point.  Tuesday night is up in the air right now - I may go to see Jason Graae and Faith Prince do their show, although I saw it recently, so if there's something better to do I may do it.
