And, yes, it's raining here in Manhattan. And I'm guessing that's what helped me sleep in (finally!) this morning.

I am home. I walked out of the office just as the torrential downpour began. I had my umbrella, but my shoes and scks are soaked through.

DR Jane, there must be some bones or skulls or a lost ark in there somewhere!

You would think ;)   The photo doesn't do the wall, which we are building, justice.  It is exciting to see something go in while the demolition crew continues to demolish.  T-Rex is currently stacking the remains of a tree into the back of a truck.  We thought we had great views until we removed some trees.  After we removed the first trees we realized more were needed to go.

I wish our grand nephews could come watch all the truck action here.

It's a public holiday today but I went into the office, doing my voluntary job, which is preferable to being amongst swarms of people out and about.

Elizabeth Montgomery didn't exactly go out for comedy outside of BEWITCHED, did she?

There was the 1963 Dean Martin movie "Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed?"

so I think that all adds up to a little over nine hours of sleep.

You just keep rubbing in the fact that you get tons of sleep. ;)

Last night I got about 4 1/2-5 hours of sleep.

My life just flashed before my eyes: all orchestra personnel, chorus and choirboy names were omitted from the EILEEN recordng booklet. A flurry of emails passed back and forth and the last one assured me the booklet hadn't gone to the printer and would be added today. Oy! Such a relief!

I proofed the booklet and missed that. I guess I was more concerned on Thursday about heading to Dublin on Saturday. My job has been saved. For now.

And the new Kritzerland release, another great Golden Age title.  It will be live on the Kritzerland site at six, but you know what to do if you want it sooner.

Kritzerland is pleased to present a world premiere limited edition soundtrack release:

STRATEGIC AIR COMMAND

Music Composed and Conducted by Victor Young

CD has been ordered. :)

TOD:

...
IN THIS HOUSE OF BREDE
...

Funny you should mention this one DR Dan!  Richard is now finishing up a major paper for the course he's taking on monasticism, comparing the novel IN THIS HOUSE OF BREDE (one of his all-time favorites) to St. Benedict's tenets.  We watched the movie the other evening, not for the first time, but for the first time in a long time.  Richard kept saying, "They've really messed up the story!"  I've never read the book and wanted to have my book group read it and have Richard lead the discussion, but it's not readily available enough to assign it to the others.  Our local public library doesn't even have a copy and it's not available for Kindle.

TOD - Because I worked 2 evenings a week and was often rehearsing with our community theatre in the '70s, I didn't see too many made-for-TV movies or miniseries.  I do remember:

BRIAN'S SONG
THAT CERTAIN SUMMER
THE MISSILES OF OCTOBER

And, from the '80s, THE DAY AFTER and KENNEDY with Blair Brown as Jackie.

THE BAZ, a website devoted to Basil Rathbone, interviewed me last week.  I think it turned out rather well.

I think my favorite Elizabeth Montgomery performance was in "The Awakening Land," a mini-series from the late 1970s.

And my sister-in-law Joann just sent me a message that my carton of gifts from Dublin arrived unbroken. The Dublin Pub T-shirts are already in the washer. The mug arrived in one piece. It's been a pretty good day.
