I couldn't get tickets for the Olympics but I was able to get to the Olympic Stadium today to see the Paralympics. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a wonderful experience to be there.....and I'm not even interested in sport!
I think it is cool that you were able to go. It is an interesting stadium. I have seen a little of the paralympics on the Canadian and BBC feeds. Nearly nothing about them in the games in the
US media.

There's been a lot of criticism here about how the US media is largely ignoring the Paralympics.

To me it says a lot as I am nearly deaf....   I posted on facebook an article about an inspiring American paralympian who is a sprinter in addition to a scholar and scientist. I was impressed. Sadly there was nothing about him and his story on any of the us OUtlets.

Here is the story that appeared on the BBC website..

Back from the Costco run and some lunch at the Daily Grill.  I had their under 600 calorie turkey club with avocado sandwich, which was incredibly great - how it can be under 600 calories and have avocado is anyone's guess, but it was filling and really tasty.

We are also back from a Costco run.

Costco is opening later this fall in West Fargo

And, this is Teddy Tahu Rhodes

Teddy isn't only a good singer but a very good actor. He spends a lot of time onstage dressed in very little.

He's one of the leading subjects on the Barihunks site.

Sharp!

My first board game would have been Monopoly for sure, but also this wonderful baseball board game (I talk about it in Benjamin Kritzer, I think).

None of those games came along until I was older - like before last year!

That is correct.  The U.S. news media has ignored the games completely.

I am obsessed with a game on my kindle called Every Word.

I fondly remember playing lots of games with my grandmother and her friends. Lots of card games. But also there was something called rummy something, which we played a lot.

These days i play a lot of kids games.

Clue Junior. Princess Yahtzee.  Old Maid. Crazy 8s. Go Fish.

Richard and I worked out at the Y and then went to Olive Garden for dinner - my sister's treat.  She sent me a couple of gift cards as "thanks for looking after Mom."

Now I'm home wearing out the PREV button on our TV remote.  I'm watching the Democratic National Convention on C-Span and the Cincinnati/Pittsburgh game on ESPN.  The Bearcats' newest season ticket holders are there - that's what we gave Rob and Mary Linda for their first (paper) anniversary.

Yes, it is, DR Jane.  She sent one for Olive Garden and one for Bob Evans, which we'll use sometime when we want to go out to breakfast.  The cards came last week, the day after my frustrating shopping day with Mom.  Nancy's timing couldn't have been better.
