I have a lead on a new cat sitter. She's someone I know and believe she's trustworthy.  Hopefully this will work out

Good luck this person works out.

Just discovered my book has now made it to Kindle format. That makes me feel like less of the Luddite that I am.

;D and congratulations!

DR's JRand and Ron, wonderful photos!

DR Ron your father was very handsome.

Thanks.  He was the youngest of 8 siblings, and he didn't really resemble any of them, IMO.  Of course, his personality was quite like theirs in almost every way.

The plant lady came to the door and asked, almost pleaded, if I could please save her from using the porta potty.  ;D

I told her it was my pleasure.  :)

What a tragic event.  It reminds me of almost losing my leg to MRSA last year.

Busy day. I have two meetings, a dentist appointment (for which I'm taking half a sick day) and then after the dentist I'm going to a goodbye event for someone from our office who is leaving after 20 years. Then tomorrow the fun begins because we go to DC for the weekend.

Good morning, all!  At 9:00 I turned off the lights and went to bed. I did not get 9.5 hours of sleep, unfortunately, because it was a rather unpleasant night of discomfort, but I'm sure I slept at least 7.5 hours.  This morning I see my doctor, and I am guessing there are tests to be taken.

Lar, hope everything goes well at the Doctor! Hugs to you.

Thanks, DR Ben! The sooner i'm feeling better, the sooner I'll be out of this depression and crummy mood. I hope.

If the doctor can't help, perhaps we can fly MBarnum out there to take care of you!

My cat sitter is was my friend, Betzy.  Since she has not spoken to me or answered my texts since 5/7/12, I  am guessing that I will need a new sitter as well.

TOD

When I was very young - see Hot Dog Story from yesterday - my aunt & uncle owned a little gas station/restaurant in the little southern Indiana town of Mill Grove....which is just a bump in the road on Indiana State Road 67.  But my Aunt Ruby could make the BEST hamburgers EVER.  They weren't round, they were sort of square to fit on a piece of white bread....and she smashed them as flat as could be.....loved visiting their business and having a hamburger with dill pickles.....

Jack:  My father ran a gas station, as I mentioned.  The same architect must have designed your aunt's and my father's station:

Jack and Ron, what great photos!

TOD:

I don't know if he place is still there, but the greatest hamburgers ever made in the world were at a Seattle drive-in, Burgermaster, which was located near the University District.

The burgers were big and messy and fantastic.

Still there, Druxy!

And now I am off to rehearsal....there is a photo of me in Tuesday's edition of The DePauw, but I do not have a hard copy of it yet, and I can't link the PDF.....so perhaps sooner or later it will show up here.

Great lyric, FJL, even if it's sadly all too true. It's like shows that want Forbidden Broadway to roast them.

In other news, Meryl Streep as the Witch in the film of "Into the Woods"? Why? Why Rob Marshall? I hope he doesn't trash the show the way he did "Nine." He only cut my favorite seven songs from that score.

I just hope that Pierce Brosnan passes on the project.

Anyone have an idea how this could "cure" could actually be "successful"?

RE Notes for today- Although I didn't grow up in So Cal, I am always very saddened when I read about what I read about in bk's notes.  Nothing is sacred anymore, I don't understand people's thinking about Mom and Pop stores and their demise, I think it's a big deal that they're all going away.  (or have gone away)

That's all I have.

Why, do they grind up people?
