So, today I remembered sitting with some old and new friends this summer and hearing that one of them is a pet sitter.  I remember telling her that I already had someone I was very happy with.  Well, today I called her and she said as long as she's in town she'd be glad to.  She doesn't live far from my house and will come over next week to get the lay of the land.  Plus, she mentioned a couple other friends by name and said among them, they would always make sure I had help with the cats.   I'm quite relieved about that.  Now I just hope she's around in December so I can go to NYC

I also broke my tooth last night.  Luckily they can fix it with a crown. The other lucky thing is it doesn't hurt

On a positive note, my little toe is feeling better quite quickly, so I think it may not be broken

Thanks for all the vibes and prayers for Sharon.  I haven't gotten any more news today.  I'm going to call one of her friends tomorrow and see what the latest is.

I got to boogie on the disco 'round, oh yea

Please don't talk about love tonight
Please don't talk about sweet love
Please don't talk about being true
And all the trouble we've been through
Ah, please don't talk about all of the plans
We had for fixin' this broken romance
I want to go where the people dance
I want some action
I want to live
Action, I got so much to give
I want to give it
I want to get some too

Ooooh I, I love the nightlife
I got to boogie
On the disco 'round, oh yea
Oh, I love the night life
I got to boogie on the disco 'round, oh yea

Please don't talk about love tonight
Your sweet talking won't make it right
Love and lies just bring me down
When you've got women all over town
You can love them all and when you're through
Maybe that'll make, huh, a man out of you
I got to go where the people dance
I want some action
I want to live

Action
I got so much to give
I want to give it
I want to get some too

Ah Fong’s (downstairs!) Chinese restaurant on Beverly Dr.

I first began going there with Keith and his family.  It was a sad day for us when Ah Fong's went out of business.

They make a great terriyaki (Sp?) burger at Mother Nature's.  It's got mushrooms and I can't remember...swiss cheese?  Anyway, it's beef, not chicken, and it's wonderful

"Student Who Got 'Gay Cure' Sues California Over New Law"

Anyone have an idea how this could "cure" could actually be "successful"?

He just has to keep taking big doses of denial.

when MacDonalsd first came out with their 1/3 lb angus burgers the mushroom swiss burgers were amazing - beautifuuly cooked, covered with delicius suteed mushrooms  dripping with melted swiss.... but once the introductory period was over the burgers became overcooked with  miniscule  amounts of toppings

Good Evening!

We managed to get through Act One during today's "table work" session, and it was quite a lively and loverly discussion. We read a scene, and then open the floor to questions. Any questions. What time of day is it? What would have prompted one character to do that to another character? What level of education did the character achieve? Etc., etc., etc. It's like a background research session en masse.

We go back to choreography and music sessions tomorrow, and will go over Act Two on next week. -Our "Higgins", Benedict Campbell, flew back up to the Shaw Festival to finish up his second to last week of Ragtime and His Girl Friday.

As for the Topic of the Day...

I'm guessing the first hamburger I had was from McDonald's. Although, it's very possible the first one was from during a backyard cookout.

One hamburger-specific memory: The first couple of times I went to Wendy's I remember being disappointed(?) that they weren't as juicy and as "drippy" as their commercials said they were. -Remember all those napkin commercials?

I also seem to remember not being all that impressed with a Burger King "Whopper".

*And my favorite McDonald's hamburger used to be a plain one. No pickle. No ketchup. No mustard. *If you asked for a plain one, they were usually made-to-order - or at least assembled-to-order - since the default was with ketchup and pickles (and onions?). Alas, when McDonald's streamlined their assembly line, that meant that most items are pre-cooked, kept in a warmer, and then microwaved as needed. :-/

Thanks, guys.  Is I LOVE THE NIGHTLIFE a song people remember?

DR FJL - I most definitely remember that song! *And it's one of those songs that "kids" who weren't even born when the song first came out seem to know by heart. ???

DR Jane (or any other DRs), I know you use your nook mostly now, but what did you used to do if your book's print was too small to comfortably read?

It's book 2 and i really want to read it. This is the only series i've ever had a problem with. Sometimes they fonts are a bit smaller but i've never seen anything like this. And it's making me crazy.

I ended up getting the first 3 chapters as a sample at amazon.com so i could read that part comfortably.

I really don't understand why anyone printing a book would do this. :(
