Home from a busy day at Middfest.  I had some good beef Bourgogne for lunch and heard a couple of good presentations in the lit center.

Yes, I am, DR TCB.  I'm eating popcorn and an apple and watching the UC/Miami football game.  Go, Bearcats!

My leg is really throbbing today.  I was showing off at therapy this week, both on Monday and Wednesday, making a complete walk around the office with my walker.  Of course, I have been worn out ever since, but it was fun to do.  I think I will go take a pill and then watch TV in bed.  I will probably check in agian on the laptop.

Yes, tonight ESPN is showing the U of W against Oregon, which I will watch for a good laugh.

Just had a call from Fr. Richard, who has arrived safely in Lima and sounds very tired.

And I am home. Everyone cleared out at 7:45 to catch an evening performance. Many were going to see PETER AND THE STAR CATCHER. One of our Miami alumni is the assistant company manager. I saw several old friends, several students I'd met on previous trips to Ohio,  and I met some nice people from the university.

I'm happy to be home and settling in.  This afternoon I caught Disc 2 of the BFI DVD of THE DEVILS, and I very much enjoyed the various features.

DR Elmore, I'm so glad you were able to go to the Miami event and that you had such a good time.  Hope you make it to the concert tomorrow.

Other than KFC I don't even know of any places that serve fried chicken. And sadly i don't think i've ever had homemade fried chicken.

Up from a nap. Watching "Gosford Park," which I haven't seen since it came out. Very interesting movie in light of "Downton Abbey." And Maggie Smith is great  in both.

I had to watch it with the subtitles turned on becasue I couldn't understand anything that was said downstairs.  In fact, I  could hardly understand the upstairs dialogue.
I have to do that with my parents and any British movie.

your parents have subtitles?  I wish mine did!

When I was little my folks loved James Bond ---  they used to go to see it at the Drive In and  put we three kids in our pj's in the back of the station wagon with  our pillows and blankets

The plan was that we were to fall asleep after playing on the playground  (with all the other kids in their pjs!) and watching the cartoon feature... but I stayed awake for Goldfinger----

I still remember vividly Odd Job  and his hat and  when Romney made that odd remark about  airplane windows I immediately remembered that airplane scene!
