We posted at EXACTLY the same time DR GEORGE!

Now, if only you'd both posted at 07:08:09 on 10-11-12.

Of course you still could, this evening.

DR VIN TEK - I almost posted that yesterday, but it was so hard to watch, that I didn't.

I wish I hadn't watched it.....  But as you say - her husband is her primary caregiver and is positive about the video being seen....and Shelley Fabares, her best friend says that she is sure Annette would want it to be seen if it can help people.

I still wish I hadn't watched it.

Jrand62,

I feel the same way.  Still, I believe that it's worth seeing.  I think we're often isolated from unpleasantness to the point where we don't always do what what we might to help.  I was ambivalent about posting the link last night but finally decided today that it was the right thing to do, as long as I warned people beforehand how difficult it is to watch.

Hi All,

I don't usually post, mostly because I don't really have anything to say worth hearing.  But today I think I'm going to make an exception.  Someone sent the link below to me, and I think that some of the folks here might be interested in seeing it.  Be forewarned:  the video is very difficult to watch, at least it was for me.  But those closest to her want people to see it, so I'm doing my small bit to get the word out.  It broke my heart to see it, so if you're not up to it, don't click on the link.

I'll watch it when I get home.  It's sad, but like Jack said, if it help other people, then posting it's a good thing.

From last night...
Quote
Even late-night stalwart George has turned into a little WUSSBURGER.

I was working on union stuff after I got home from the show, which was pretty good...not great, but pretty good (I liked the production more than the show itself).  I had to check on some things and do some things and now I must go to bed.

What show did you see, George?

Capital Playhouse's production of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.

DR TCB - I think DR GEORGE wrote that he was seeing BUDDY HOLLY THE MUSICAL last night.

I have never seen a production of the show, although I really like the cast CD and I bought a souvenir book of the show so I could look at the pictures.

Thank you both.  I know I could have looked it up, but I was being lazy!

It didn't help me.....I've been depressed since looking.

Oh well on the lighter side....I am off to Salem for a full run through for the designers of THE CRUCIBLE.

Has Doris Day ever been asked if  she would accept an honorary Oscar by phone  if they gave one to her?  Has the topic ever come up?

Not sure why i'm wondering right now.

Didn't Jose have a photo the other day of some dish that was made with brussels sprouts and risotto?

Everyone I know pronounces them as Brussel sprouts. I've never heard anyone say Brussels sprouts, even though that's the official way they are spelt.

It's a good thing I ran into my super just now in the basement; my new stove is arriving tomorrow. So, I will spend time tomorrow cleaning up the kitchen area to allow them access to accomplish the installation. God forbid the building management or the appliance company could call to arrange a date.

Glad you are getting that new stove, DR Elmore. Next time I am in NYC it will make it so much nicer for you when you are cooking my meals.

I should send you my updated list of dietary requirements and favorite dishes, while I am thinking about it.

No, it's pronounced just like the "s" in the city name "Brussels".

Thing is, when you hear someone pronounce it, the two esses are sounded as one:  "Brusselsprouts." There are really two esses, but unless someone over-enunciates the words, you only hear the "s" once.

If the City of Flanders had some seals, you would probably tell your friends you saw "Flanders seals" but it would sound like "Flanderseals"

If you had shingles on your house made in Sweden, they would be "Swedish shingles", but it would sound like "Swedishingles".

And let me tell you, "Swedish ingles" are something entirely different from "Swedish shingles".

Nicky had a urinary blockage that could have killed him if we hadn't gotten it taken care of in time.  They knocked him out, managed to drain the bladder and remove some backed up poop, and I was able to bring him home.  He didn;t speak to me for the rest of the day, but he is much better today.

We have been there and know how horrible ithat is.  How is Nicky today?
