DR TCB last night DR Cilla mentioned the special diet for DC Nicky.  If memory serves me correctly he already was on the diet.  Did the vet make any new changes?

Usually a cat will need to be put on a dry food that helps prevent urinary tract infections.  But Nicky doesn't eat dry food, he only eats canned food.  So, the vet said he should be fine to stay on that.

An infection, not crystals, caused the block?

She couldn't find any indication of either one.

I have been waking up because I'm cold so I just ordered flannel sheets from LL Bean.  I hope I don't have to wait until Monday for them to be shipped.

I can't stand flannel sheets.  They make me sweat.

I almost wrote that they make me sweet!

I don't like flannel sheets, either.  They're polyester and I didn't like the feel of it on my skin.  It just didn't feel "right."  I have a couple of quilted comforters that have a cotton/poly blend for the covers and that's fine...and cotton sheets, of course.

Nicky had never had a real sick day until Tuesday.  He has had colds and hairballs, but he has never had any serious problems.

I used to love them, before I began using the high thread count cotton sheets.  I better like these, I splurged on the extra soft, high quality sheets from LL Bean.

The paramedic gave my mother a blanket. And billed her about $40 for it.

Yes, Jane a good night's sleep helped me, as did the big huge cup of coffee I had this morning.  I hadn't had any coffee in two days...I think it was part caffine withdrawal

Boo scared the bejesus out of me tonight.  I couldn't find her ANYWHERE.  I searched and searched and searched. I opened doors, drawers and even searched the garage and outside.   Nothing.  I literally searched for about 45 minutes.  I finally decided to try to lure her out by opening a window and it worked.  I have absolutely no idea where her hiding place is, but it's a doozy

I called my new cat/house sitter today and she said she had forgotten to get in touch with me all week. So we planned to have her come over at 6:30 tonight so she could see how to give Callie her meds and meet the cats.   At 7:00 I called her and she said she hadn't been able to get home yet.  She also said she didn't know which number on her phone was mine.  Not really comforting, but we still have until next week before I need her.   She plans to come over Sunday evening.  I asked her if our planned dates are really going to work and she said no problem.  I'm going to have to trust her, but it isn't easy to do that.  Anyway, she does sit for a few people I know, so I"m going to have to try it.

I haven't left the cats for even a night since the beginning of July.  Before that it was May and I think that may be it for the whole year.  Makes it a lot harder to leave them with anyone .

That's not very encouraging.

How is Sharon?

DR Laura - consider it done.  Do you also know/like "Think of Laura" by Christopher Cross?

Today the insurance guy called me.  He's the supervisor of the adjuster who never calls anyone back.  Anyway, the big hold up paying my hospital bill was that they gave me a tetnus shot in the emergency room.   I said, "Well, my left arm was all cut up and there was some glass in it." He said "Oh, then you'd need a tetnus shot, I'm glad I asked you"    Good grief!   Of course we haven't worked out the doctor's bill.  The insurance co. paid it, but the hospital claims they didnt' and they want to send me to collections.  It isn't going to happen, the insurance guy said he'd fix it, but what a stupid thing

How is Sharon?

I heard on Wednesday that she had been off of dialysis for about 3 days and they were going to try to get her off the ventilator soon.  She's been kept sedated because of the ventilator so she doesn't know they amputated her arm.   I haven't heard anything since then. I think I'll call her husband this weekend.

I think Katie will be ok.  I've known her for awhile.  She knew this was a chance for her to see the cats and she knows I'm not going anywhere until later next week.  So, there is time.   I'll call her or text her when I'm gone to be sure she came over etc.   She is a cat person and knows how much they mean to me.  She only lives about 8-10 blocks from my house, so it's easy for her to get here.

Guy Haines' version of "Second Avenue" caught my "ear" today, I may need to add that to my singing "folder"
