I am still waiting for new DR Aculaura to show up.
Aculaura sounds like something that forecasts the weather.

TOD - "monies," as used by politicians and bureaucrats when talking about financial issues.

Here's one of my favorite satires on the grantwriting process:

DR JohnG, the actress with the riding crop is miss Kathleen Hughes. Sara plays the nicer of the 3 bad sisters.....all of whom are fighting over hunky John Bromfield.

Wow, this weeks MAJOR CRIMES is the season finale. Some shows certainly have short seasons...like 6 episodes.

Remember it continued from the summer show of THE CLOSER.  In reality we got lots of extra episodes.

I thought Closer was the best thing on tv and now I think Crimes is.

And I am so happy that the lovely actress, and one of my favorite interviewees, Sara Shane (aka Elaine Hollingsworth) is now on Facebook. I haven't chatted with her since her interview was published. She lives in Australia and just posted a new video of herself on her timeline...man, she looks so good...and she is closing in on 90s years old!

90 & on FB, good for her!!!

I am getting ready to spend the next 4 days in Indianapolis with my grantwriter friends at the national conference of the Grant Professionals Association.  Six or seven of us from the Miami Valley (Dayton) chapter are attending.

Thanks, DR JRand!  We're in the Hyatt downtown and I don't expect to be outside much once I get there tomorrow afternoon.  But I'll pack an umbrella, just in case...

I have a question for DR Jane, or BK who probably knows this as well.

Stats.  Or Stat's.  For burgers?  DR Jane mentioned it when we were talking about Beverly Hills and it sounded slightly familiar.  I subsequently found a couple of notes from those years indicating I went there, but I'm completely blank on what it was, where it was, anything about it, and the word "stats" is making for an impossible Google search.  I'd love to fill in a memory here.

I found this.  It isn't much.

I remember the thousand island dressing which I have always preferred on a hamburger.

I also remember cheese in the middle of the burger and rye bread.  We always ate at the one on Wilshire & Doheny.

I'm helping a friend today so I skipped the gym.  I probably could have done both but decided to give my shoulder a rest for a couple of more days.  I did easy exercised at home this morning.

That sounds delish.

It reminds me slightly of the Reuben casserole, which I will be making soon, most likely this weekend. Recipe was really easy.

But Bromfield goes off with Jess Barker at the end, right?

Actually, it had 10 episodes.

However it has been renewed, and the new season (next summer) will have 15.

BK,

I must disagree with you on DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.

I think it's one of the better Connery Bond movies.  I prefer it over THUNDERBALL and YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, and with the possible exception of THE SPY WHO LOVED ME and (only because Christopher Lee is in it) THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, I think it beats all of the Roger Moore Bond films.

Well, you're comparing it to other terrible Bonds.  I don't like Thunderball or You Only Live Twice and I loathe the Roger Moore series.  Diamonds fits very comfortably with those.  Any slack I would cut it is removed because of Bruce Glover and that other awful actor who play the two gay villains.
