Liza Danza sounds like a bad parody of an Elton John song.

So, hold me closer, Liza Danza.

DR Matthew, since I'm coming to the conclusion that the DP is a moron who deserves this stupid guest, I suggest you ask them both to move out.

Sadly, Elmore, it's close to coming down to that.  And that's another story for another day.

I'm sorry DR Matthew.  This has to be making your tolerance to coping with the guest far more difficult & your attitude less generous than you feel it should be.

We have had our share of difficult guest.  Fortunately Keith & I were on the same page with our feelings during the experience.

DR Jrand, that is true depending on when you submit your request.  Good luck one cycle is all you need.

When I get home I hope to find an interesting little package...one containing a 1950s Japanese science fiction film I have never before seen.

I suppose I need to get my nephew a birthday card.  I don't think I've purchased any birthday cards since May.  We always took Sherlock to the card store with us and I haven't had the heart to shop without him.  I feel bad that I have missed so many birthdays since then & I have a feeling I'm going to miss a few more in the near future.

When we were first married we had a cat named Sinbad that used to sit in front of the ironing board while I ironed.  Keith was always worried I would drop the iron on him.  The first time I ironed after our 2 year old cat died the iron fell right where Sinbad would have been.  I didn't iron again for a year and I enjoyed ironing back then, just like I enjoy sending birthday cards.

I assure you I don't walk around depressed, there are simply certain things that are difficult to do right now.

There are other things that are easier to do, like everything that has to do with keeping the house clean.

I accomplished much of what I needed to do today but I've still got a bed covered in papers I need to sort/file/toss out.

DR Matthew, I'm sorry to hear that there are other problems in the relationship, but the DP is a being a total jerk over the way he's handlng this "friend" situation.

Well, it's time for me to leave work and go to my sister's house.  From there, we're off to Seattle to see Wicked!  I don't know where are seats are, but I'm sure that we'll be able to see everything...hopefully, the sound will be good, too.

Until later! ;D

TOD:

I could write a book...or, at least, several chapters in a book, about my experiences in community theatre.  In fact, I already did.

Didn't most of us here get our first show biz experiences in community theatre?

I think the incident that sticks in my mind more than any other is the dreadful way that the people at Seattle's Cirque Playhouse treated legendary character actor Charles Winninger when he played there.

On a more positive note, being able to work on productions that featured the likes of actors like Winninger, John Carradine, Edward Everett Horton and others was the greatest experience an aspiring actor, writer or director could have.

What years did you work at the Cirque.  In its last years 72 - 81, the Cirque was strictly an Equity House.  I auditioned for a few shows, but was never cast.
