Thanks DR GINNY.  Thanks DR ELMORE.  I think I shall wait a bit longer before I purchase a Reader.
What do want the kindle for? Do you read a lot. Or want it to be more like a tablet.  love reading. And like DR Elmore love paper books. But I have had a kindle for ten months. And now I could not imagine living without it.

Well, if I don't try to do anything that requires the use of my thumb, it doesn't bleed.  Unfortunately, moving the wheels on my chair does include my thumb.

I guess I don't understand what people do use a tablet for, which is why I never wanted one.  My Kindle is much easier to pack for a two week vacation than a dozen books.

DR TCB the change of seasons often brings on colds. I have in the past gotten sick fairly easily. But no not every Fall. But it is hard when the temps go up and down so much.

DR TCB you can use a tablet like a computer to go on the internet or check email. Or play games.

TOD:

I have never owned a bicycle, I don't know how to ride one.

This is very unusual.  Growing up did your friends also not have bikes?

My father did not like them (I think he had a friend who was killed on one), so we never had one...until neither of my parents wanted to drive my brother to summer football practice at six in the morning, so he got a bike from a relative or somewhere, but by that time I didn't care and would've have probably never learned to balance myself on one anyway.  And, frankly, I was kind of in my father's camp.  I liked something with sides around me.

I got a license renewal form today - have to go down there to renew, but I don't have to take a written test - just the eye test and fingerprint.

I wonder if they've stopped giving the written tests to people who already have licenses simply because they need the revenue.  When I moved to Kentucky, I didn't have to take a written test, just an eye exam.

Here I am, so E&T it shocks even moi.

HTF stuff is good except for a mercifully brief visit to Universal.  Best visit by far, so far, is Warner Bros.today.

Tomorrow we're going to Anaheim to see a mouse.  I'm going along because I haven't seen the place in two decades and I do like a little Disney.

BK:  Ron Epstein was asking me privately for anything in particular that I credit for having interested me in the forum, and for keeping me there.  It was a nice conversation.  Anyhoo, I told him (and it's the truth) that it was the presence and input of people like Harris, Redman (not that he posts that much, but the presence counts), and Kimmel.  He said it would be great if you would care to join on Friday evening when Nick and Julie are here, and that I should please extend the, invitation.  I , naturally, think it's a fine idea and wish you would.

Well, it has been a day...and tomorrow will be another one.  I am actually posting this from my Kindle because the wi-fi access through my tablet is evidentally craptastic! :P However, as "experimental" as this browser is, the wi-fi works.

The supervisor training that I am taking is quite informative, but my fellow Timberland library employee Bernard said that it's all very basic stuff.  I don't doubt that that's true, but I've never been taught this stuff, so it's new to me.  We have tomorrow' training and then we are done and I get to sleep in my own bed again!  Can't wait!

Last night, I went to bed at about midnight (which is actually early for me) but I absolutely could not go to sleep!  I just laid there and my brain could not turn off.  I finally looked at the clock and it was 1:45 am.  I really don't think that I ended up getting more than a couple of hours of sleep, if even that so I am pretty darned tired.  I need to go to sleep now.  I won't try to log back on until I get back home.  It'just not worth the hassle.

Have a good day tomorrow, all! ;D

Back from Musso and Frank and The Book of Mormon and an amusing run-in with two of the most attitude-laden police officers - I got so annoyed with them I thought they were going to drag me in until I realized they didn't have that power.  More in the notes.
