Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the best of intentions, and now it is time for you to post until the best-intentioned cows come home.

TOD:

I've usually always had a bicycle. I was about 10 when I had my first one which was second hand and I can remember learing to ride it in the road outside my house (there were few cars in those days). In my 20s I was living in a city in the north of England but it was very hilly so I didn't use a cycle there. Coming back to London I cycled all over town and for very many years I cycled 20 miles every day to and from work.  I'm lazy now and drive everywhere!

Good morning, all! I was not up so late as I feared, abd I slept rather well. By 11pm I figured that I'd heard enough of the debate commentary andturned off the lights.  I can't imagine that Mitt is doing too well with his supporters this morning; I suspect he agreed just a bit too much with the President on issues, but it's always fun watching him do somersaults, jump through hoops and do everything short of pulling balloons out of his ass to cozy up to potential voters. I still don't know what his policies are beyond protecting the rich and looking down on us poor folk; they seem to change every debate.

I will shortly be off to Toyland and that's my day.

I had several bikes through gradeschool and high school, all Huffys, as I recall. When I was in college, I had a wonderful bike whose manufacturer I no longer recall. I also owned a bike between 1973 and 1979 that got me around Middletown for fun and, on occasion, when my car died.

I fell asleep during the debate.    I was so tired when I got off work, I did not even care.

Off to work.   Have a wonderful day everyone.

Great pictures yesterday, maybe I should move somewhere closer to trees.  In the hills near where I work.  That would be nice.

I have nothing else to say.  Great night of sleep, and I am very foggy right now.  It feels good.

I have a bike. It is in the storage room. I bought it because my birding buddy and I were going to take them to New Mexico last year so we could move quickly around the wildlife preserve we planned on visiting. Sadly, she broke her shoulder and couldn't ride. Maybe this year.

TOD: I got my first bike when I was about 5. It was a hand-me-down from the girl down the street, who had gotten it from her older brothers, etc. It did not have training wheels on it, so my sister was nice enough to hold it for me -- for about five minutes. Then it was pedal or fall. So I pedaled.

Another one of their hand-me-downs was a black Schwinn that I loved. It had bars across the middle that you could stand on while coasting. I used to love to do that down the street. Couldn't do it now as there are speed bumps everywhere.

I have a stationary bike now and I need to use it more. But it's boring, even if I'm reading and watching a movie while on it.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I cancelled a meeting with the director of the senior center, so I have some free morning time.  She and I have been talking about grants, but I really didn't have anything new for her today and she's busy trying to get the levy passed on Nov. 6.

My first bicycle was my older brother's OLD bicycle when he got a new one.  I never owned a NEW bicycle.  It was a Schwinn.

TCB, regarding your Brent Barrett comments last night: You can tell in that clip from "Grand Hotel," which I have watched dozens of times, that Jeter's character (or maybe just Jeter) is swooning, too. Barrett is certainly stunning. And he has that ineffable ham charm. The reason I would need to see his "Kiss Me, Kate" again would be to see if he could accomplish what Alfred Drake did in a severely truncated version of the show: He almost made me cry at Fred's reprise of "So in Love." In that moment, the ego was stripped bare, the heartbreak was there. He was genuinely moving in a show that's more known for its wit than his heart.

Thank you. Headache is gone. I often wake up with headaches. No, it is not alcohol-induced.

TOD:

I do not recall my first bike, although I am sure it had 3 wheels.

I do recall my parents buying me a bike at K-Mart when I was in in 5th grade. It was after we moved from Medford to Central Point. Central Point was sort of like Mayberry RFD and I rode all over the place...to the Library where I first read bios of Judy Garland and Groucho Marx...to the store that sold Goldfish...to the Stamp and Coin Shop...to my buddy Dave's house...to the Rock Museum...to the Pharmacy where I would buy my issues of Famous Monsters of Filmland and Marvel comic books.

Only thing I remember about the bike is that it was one of those with a banana seat, which was all the rage in 1975.

I'm sorry that it wasn't alcohol induced. If you have to have a headache, it should at least come from a good cause.  ;)

But I am glad that it's gone.
