I"m wondering if Vixmom is getting ready for the Frankestorm Sandy.   If it was Sandra, I'd suggest putting out a big dish of floop to ward away the bad weather, alas, it's Sandy

Actually I'm wondering about all our East Coasters.   Be sure and take care.  It sounds like this is for real this time, so be prepared.

Hmmm. Interesting. As I said, if the subway and commuter trains are closed tomorrow I know that our office will be closed because many of the staff, including senior staff, come in from public transportation. We shall see. After 7pm tomorrow I'll know if we're closed. Right now, it's 61 degrees and not rainy or windy. It looks like any regular late October night.

Bruce, FB is also quiet tonight so don't feel too bad.

The busiest people on FB tonight are just posting one political photo & comment after another.  If I agree or not I am hiding everyone of them now.

I only go on Facebook if I need to let people know about an event or something - I cannot stand the political posts no matter what side people are on.  The ones from my actor friends are the worst and these people should just stop trying to shove their views down people's throats - it's thoroughly irritating.  One such actor I know makes thirty posts in a row about "his" views and his hatred for one side and love for another.  I've seen other people say "Facebook friends if you're voting for the opposition please unfriend me."  I mean, how idiotic.

All the boards seem quiet this evening.  Why?  You'd think it was a Saturday night or something.  Of course, I take it all very personally :)

I suppose I could jog tonight - it was a summer-like day today, about ninety degrees.  Then I might go in the jacuzzi.  But for now, finishing up watching Bonjour Tristesse.

Yup.  I do have friends that post thoughtful comments & links.  Right now even those who didn't say much earlier are making a last effort to express their views, mostly with photos & silly comments.

No, DR Jane, she got her laundry done today, but it took her 4 hours because she had to wait for the dryer.  There have been a few times when she hasn't felt up to doing laundry and I've offered, but she has yet to accept.  She can always have the housekeeping staff do it - for a fee, of course.

That is even worse that she had to wait, and so long, in between using the washer & the dryer.  I hope they at least apologized to her.

I doubt it.  More often than not, it seems that the needs of the residents are not their first priority.

But if one has a set time for the machines they should be notified of changes & given other options.  I suppose it would be complicated to have your mother over once a week and let her do her laundry at your house.

She'd never be able to get down the basement steps and back up.  I'd be glad to have her here and do her laundry myself, but I can't see her agreeing to that.  Can you spell I.N.D.E.P.E.N.D.E.N.T.?

Ginny, you can have me over once a week (dinner included), and do my laundry for me.  Oh yeah, you also have to pick me up and take me home.

Sometimes I wonder if people realize that everything they post on Facebook goes out to every person they friend.  There is a professional business woman who posted last week that she wondered how anyone could be stupid enough to vote for President Obama.  Did she really want all of her business associates to readt that?

A lot of people are attending Halloween parties tonight since the holiday comes during the week.

I am watching the Notre Dame / Oklahoma game on ABC.  I have no idea why, since I don't give a fig about either team.

I am taking a week's vacation from everything.  No therapy scheduled (I still have to do my excercises everyday), no lunches scheduled; just kicking back and doing nothing.
