Discovered this morning that the cat sitter ran the washer and dryer.  I can't figure out what she washed and dried unless it was the towels she certainly didn't wash my clothes.   i can tell because she used different settings than i use.  Bizarre

Chances are she washed her own clothes.

I agree and I don't trust her...

LOL, she's not coming back, I don't trust her either.

Apparently Con Edison is shutting down steam service tonight which means no heat or hot water.  It is a precaution as
cold flood water on steam pipes can damage the system.

I saw that DR Julie mentioned that -  we are not affected by that fortunatley

Good.  Do I remember correctly that you have a sump pump in your basement?  Will it work without electricity?

no we just have a wet dry vac which of course is dependent  on electricity =  last storm the  biggest portion was scooped up in buckets and carried out  the Vixter and I sopped up the water with towels, rung them out into buckets and carried that up the stairs and out

There are people who love the vets in town we have left and a few who have left the vet we love.  You keep on top of the decisions your vet makes which is better than most people do.

I prefer a vet closer to home.  At least if you don't care for the new vet or feel the need for a 2nd opinion you have a vet you like.

Good luck with the leads.

Well, at least the Vixter & Vixdad will be home the next two days.  Wishes you don't have much water & electricity if you do.  I know what a pain it is to clean up flooding.

No, I don't think so, she only lives about 10 blocks from here and has her own washer and dryer in her house.  She lives in a cool old house. I think she washed the towels she stacked down the basement, but from the lint trap on the dryer it was more than that.  I keep wondering if something happened and made a big mess so she cleaned it up

LOL-So now she is also dangerous as she did not clean the lint trap after using the dryer.

sorry I have been busy the past few days

I kept coming i to to check in but been so tired that I kept dozing off while I was reading

Forget reading the next couple of days.  We just want to know how you are.  Is your office closed tomorrow?

Nope - not at the moment -  we have a busy day tomorrow although I do not doubt that all of our closings will be cancelled

Our boss went away for the weekend  so I doubt we are going to hear anything from him ...

So the entire East Coast is closing down, except for Vixmom's office!

Hello.  I'm back from Chicago just in time for the big storm.  I was actually going to go to NYC tomorrow to see a certain singer at "54 Below," but I changed my flight and flew directly to DC.   It turns out that Mr. Barrett's  concert has been cancelled after all.

Did Barbra send any message for me?

I could have sworn that everything I've read heretofore said the storm was coming today.  What, did they realize that wasn't happening and then change their predictions, or did I just mis-read it?

I think you misread or I misread.  I thought it was coming Monday night.

Everytime I hear a sound outside, I stop to see if the wind has picked up.  But then I remember I live on the other coast.  Whoops!

I loved the vet I took Nicky to see.  Unfortunately, Nicky does not agree.

Hi everyone.  Been E&T this weekend.  Just got in from a few days in Lake Tahoe.  We had a great time.  We saw Leon Russell in concert last night.  Here is a little review:

eon Russell Concert Update - Leon was quite amazing. By no means, an entertainer, but an amazing musician. He had a four piece band including him on keyboard, and they had a great sound. Unfortunately, the sound wasn't mixed well, and on top of Leon Russell's sometimes un-intelligible vocals, it was hard to understand a word. But his music was fantastic. He did a small set with just him, and I understood everything he sang. He sang "A Song for You", and that was good enough for me for the evening.  He basically came out (with the aide of a cane), sat down and played for 90 minutes. Most of which, I assume was his own music, and he did way too my covers of other music for my taste.

Besides the mix not being great, I was not happy with the keyboard programmer or whoever that was in charge of Leon Russell's keyboard. The volume was way too high and the treble was out of control, even to the point of distortion. Also, the piano/string combination that he was using when he was do his solo stuff was both unnecessary and at some points, distracting.

I did run into one of the band members in the casino afterward and I shook his hand and told him what a great job he did (He played guitar, steel guitar, mandolin and keyboard - and all quite well!!) and I asked if they were on tour and he said they all travel together on the same bus and were leaving for Chicago at midnight. They are in the middle of a month long tour.

I'm always glad at the chance to see a legend, in whatever shape they are in. Sometimes, just to be in the same space as them is a satisfying thing. So, the concert was a success.

Surprised would have been if the office was closed.   Extra annoying is that he won't be there.
