That's great. It puts people to work on work that needs to get done.

Speaking of post cards, thank you DR Ginny for sending yours.

I apologize for not offering to send one from Washington.  I don't get out to stores very often, and the Safeway delivery truck doesn't carry postcards.

Thank you DR TCB I wouldn't expect you to.  We also have WA covered.  I reminded her to ask her niece for that one. :)

I sent ones that were in my "stash," DR TCB - One from the First Ladies Museum in Canton, OH, and one from Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky.

You keep a "stash" of post cards?

I used to, now I only have a few from Europe.  I purchased one yesterday of Oregon light houses.  Rite Aid doesn't carry local cards so next time I'm in town I'll probably get her a second card.

I just spoke to DR Ben, and he thinks they will have power tonight or tomorrow morning.

Very good news!!  Hopefully, it actually happens!

The more I see and hear about what people on the east coast are or have gone through, the more thankful I am every minute that I have not had to go through such a situation, and I also hope that I never will.

Ditto and ditto!!

Dear reader Jose is in Facebook-only land.  I never understand this, but it seems to happen when he's working in Washington doing shows.  I suppose he'll be back in three or four months.

Had a cobb salad and a cup of chicken soup for lunch.  No packages and, irritatingly, no important envelope.

The laundry is finished, my bed completely winterized, and I'm wondering what to tackle next.

DR JohnG, I loved the movie "Eating Raul," but you have no idea how poorly it was executed onstage. It was an ugly, inept production. My whole memory of it now is the dreadful synth orchestrations.

A shame because it seems like it should work well as a play.
The fact that it's not done too often, even though the recording is immensely entertaining, was the big clue to me. I think "Evil Dead: The Musical" gets staged more than "Eating Raoul." Then again, the "Evil Dead" movies are cinema landmarks.

Pug, the artistic direcor of Theater Artists Olympia, would like to do "Evil Dead: The Musical," but the royalties would cost too much for us. :-\

Actually, right now she's working on a stage adaptation of Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs"...not a musical, though.  It's going to go up in April, I think.

DR Jane's post from last night:

I have a dear friend in L.A. who's granddaughter has a class project to collect as many post cards from around the US as possible.  They don't know many out of state people & only have Oregon, of course, AZ & FL covered, though duplicates are welcome.

Would any DR's be so kind as to send a post card?  If so let me know & I will send you their address.

Thanks.
