Good afternoon. I went to the zoo this morning with a friend who has a toddler. It was fun to play.

Marathons in good times are a horrible pain to have going on. I'm glad they canceled the NY one.

We have one coming up this weekend that will affect my getting outside the neighborhood. I hate that they close down public streets for a for-profit company.

And now, I have to catch Sasha to take her to the vet for a recheck and report of her previous tests. Wish me luck.

Sunday's NY Marathon has been cancelled.

Good!  I hope they are doing something instead to help the people.

Scott Simon from NPR tweeted that the people who are already in town for it should volunteer on Sunday instead.

Were there volunteer options & directions included with that?

I have a dear friend in L.A. who's granddaughter has a class project to collect as many post cards from around the US as possible.  They don't know many out of state people & only have Oregon, of course, AZ & FL covered, though duplicates are welcome.

Would any DR's be so kind as to send a post card?  If so let me know & I will send you their address.

The Mayor said it swas better cancelled than to be a source of contention at this time.

I would prefer he just say that it was the right thing to do.
