My first batch of caramel corn for the 2012 holiday season is in the oven.  Heart-healthy?  Not in the least...

Oh but sooo good

I sounds yummy.

Ben, this looks like the IA/MN church basement tater tot casserole

Campbell's cream of mushroom soup makes just about anything taste good.  A food favorite I don't keep in the house anymore.

It's not well known but Tater Tots are one of the five basic foods for optimum health.  Fried crunchy crisp, they're fantastic with omelettes or as a stand-alone meal alternative.  Be certain to try them with melted Velveeta cheese or the warm cream filling from a Hostess Twinky or two!

Ok, you had me until the filling from a twinkie

That statement is completely true because it is Keith's opinion, NOT mine.

Well, he really wouldn't eat Velveeta cheese ;D

Until I realized that Velveeta was actually sold off the shelf, not refrigerated, I stopped liking it.

Tonight's election eve feature: "The Manchurian Candidate." The real version with Angela, not the wretched Denzel remake.

Velvetta is what I grew up with up in my first ten years or so, and I was surprised when I learned that other cheeses DIDN'T come in a box.   :o

I have had the beginning stage of a cold so long now it must be allergies.  I think asking about a cold before taking the prep is a good idea.  As I have a prescription for ZuPrep I'm curious about the answer.

For the same procedure?  When is yours?

Yup.  For Nov. 27th.  This will be my 3rd one, not too bad considering my dad had colon cancer. I have to take anti-nausea meds to keep the drink down.  This is a new one but I'm not taking any chances for I requested the extra meds.

That's my Mom's 94th birthday.  I suspect I'll have more fun that day than you will...

When our little 3 year old friend was here Keith explained the five basic food facts to her, according to him.   They begin with popcorn & ice cream.

I was wise to call for the dermatologist to fit me in today.  She did a biopsy.  If it is skin cancer it will be the best kind so there isn't anything to worry about.

Thanks.  I prefer not to need something cut out, plus I don't want a scar on my neck.  Keith said "What is one more scar"  ;D I can't argue with that.

The author of the book on which the movie "Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing" was based has died.

It was also a soap opera....

DR Jane, these are on their way:

CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, IL, IN, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, UT, VA, VT, WI, WY, and Canada.

For a few of those states there are two or three different cards, with a few vintage or otherwise unusual/collectible ones in the mix.  I have a VERY modest postcard collection (it's not really even good enough to be called a collection), and almost all of these were dupes -- which are especially silly to keep around.

EDIT:  It was fun going through them!   :)

What do you need postcards for?  I have some ND and Mn ones I could send you if you are looking for more recent

I had to put my dog, Missy, down.

She was with me for almost 17 years.

 :'(

I am very sorry to hear of Missy's passing, Druxy.... My condolences..

Someday Iwould like to get some more postcards from different states. That is one thing I always got on my travels was book by a regional author and postcards.

Ginny can attest to me purchasing a book on Ohio Barns. It is a gorgeous book!

WOW!  I should have begun with you.  Are you sure you want to send the vintage/collectible cards?

Absolutely.  Collectible, in a very general sense.  I don't mean to imply that they're worth any real money.  (So, she won't get rich on them, either!  :))   Plus, they're dupes.

:)

My parent's traveled a lot from the time I was young which interested me in post cards.  I had a rather large collection until it disappeared during one of our many moves.

I could send a few ND and MN ones in exchange for ORegon and other states....

Interestingly, in the early 20th Century it was not unusual to have family pictures as postcards. It was used to let other relatives know about their children or their farms.
