After all of those posts yesterday, I decided to run over to the grocery store today to pick up some Tater Tots.  Wouldn't you know it?   Tater Tots are being rationed and they are using the odd and even system.  Today was an "even" day, and for some reason, they decided I was odd.

I went to the grocery store at noon today and the tater tots that were on sale were all gone!!!   I did find some that weren't on sale and picked up the other ingredients so I can eat tater tot casserole as the returns come in

I only have mild tranquilizer for traveling to cats that panted (you need to be a cat person to know what I'm talking about) heavily or tended to hyperventilate.  Loud protesters could protest all they wanted.

Callie just tells me for 2 hours that she isn't at all pleased to be in a small box in a moving vehicle and she thinks I need to turn around and take her to her nice warm bed as soon as possible.

Back from another cobb salad, this time with ranch dressing.  Naturally the Ontrac package I'm due has not arrived and will not arrive until much later this afternoon.

TOD, continued--

And was that the end of the evening's delights?  Not at all.

After dinner we were turning back onto our route when BK had to take evasive action when a car driven by an elderly gentlemen cut us off as it wandered from one lane to the other and back again.  The driver was clearly engaged in either dialing or texting, and wasn't even looking up as his vehicle proceeded apace.  Never mind that it was dark and that the streets of Burbank were hardly deserted.  We easily out-ran the threat, but not without a hair-raising moment or two.

These were actually two of the finest incidents I've observed over the past few months.

This is why I don't want to drive in LA anymore.  If my shoulder locks I'm screwed.

I just voted. I waited in line for 90 minutes!

It's now done and I'm doing a bad thing, eating lunch at my desk. We're not supposed to but IDC!!!

I think under the circumstances of the last week you deserve to eat at your desk if you want to.

Oregon has had vote-by-mail now for several years and I mailed in my ballot a week ago.

It is most convenient, especially since I like to have my voter pamphlet with me when I vote so that I can refresh in my mind what some of the ballot measures are all about and who some of the candidates are.

I mark my voter's pamphlet & go through it as I vote.  Since Keith filled his out first I looked to see where we deferred & to discuss why.  I think we voted differently on one local candidate & one of the state measures.  We tend to vote pretty much the same.

We never argue over our differences :)

I have to remind many people of this.  I had to listen to two complete idiots in the booth next to me pontificate about how they voted - it was kind of nauseating and amusing at the same time.  The big difference this year is Facebook, though - this did not happen like this four years ago - it was bad but not THIS bad.  And of course four years before that Facebook wasn't an issue at all.

Have you ever noticed that when you are at a red light and in a hurry it takes forever for the light to turn green?

But when you are at a red light and you decide to blow your nose or search for something in your glove compartment, the red light is suddenly the shortest red light ever?

;D

Or when you are late you get stopped at every light, however, when you are early you breeze through green lights.

What happened to Election Day being the time that all the candidates went home and shut up?  Obama gave a speech, Romney is campaigning in two states, and one of our governor candidates has a full schedule of events today!!  Go away, all of you!

;D

I'm not listening.

I voted two weeks ago via mail-in ballot.  I actually walked it over to the Registrar of Voters office to save postage.   We had a cut-off date for mailing ballots in and it was sometime last week, IIRC.

I dropped my ballot at the Tumwater City Hall drop box...just half a block from where I live.  In Washington state, everything is mail-in ballots.  There are no actual voting places here anymore.  The problem in Washington is that the ballots just have to be postmarked by today.  They can be received over the next several days, so our results may not be "official" until later in the week.

My vote, for President, doesn't count either. That was shown in 2000 when Al Gore won the popular vote but Bush won the electoral college. As long as that scam (the Electoral College) is in place, presidential votes are meaningless in my opinion. It may have been a necessary evil at the founding of the country but now it's just an excuse to steal an election.

And yet you voted ;)

The first time I watched VERTIGO I saw it with Keith so obviously that was later than 1958.  I liked it very much and am surprised it originally flopped.

Bruce why didn't you knock on the rude woman's window & point to the line of cars she was blocking?

Yup. She did a few musicals, including Flora, the Red Menace. But Soap is how I always think of her.

Speaking of these cards, I find it mind boggling that Craig hasn't been able to find a Maryland postcard in Maryland.

At the local Fred Meyer, they have a small section of Washington souveniers...keychains, mugs, etc.  I don't know about postcards.  Do you want me to look??  I hadn't thought about that until just now.

Bruce I appreciate your comments regarding the elections & facebook.  “If you disagree with who I’m voting for and my opinions, please unfriend me now.” totally shocked me.

I forgot until watching the extras last night that "The Manchurian Candidate" was attacked on release and that it was yanked after the Kennedy assassination for decades.

Then I remembered the re-release in the late 1980s and all the hoopla surrounding it. What a great movie it was. And very adult for 1962, when the Hayes Code was still in effect, albeit on its last legs.

I need to keep straight who offer to send, and who I sent the address to.  I had you down for Washington.  Now I remember, she has family in Washington so I didn't need to ask.  I will double check if they came through.

It would not surprise me. I get the impression that the Cryers are being kind.  I had heard stories that others in the cast didn't like Bolger's insistence on being front and center. I suspect he needed Mrs Bolger as his best eyes and ears for remaining "the star," and I'd bet it went on during ALL AMERICAN as well. I have also heard that Bolger was really great with his fans.
