Then I came home to my warm house and cooked dinner on my electric stove - did some laundry -- it just seems wrong somehow -

Well, they are *kind of*. They have real cheese in them, but also preservatives and other extras up the wazoo.

Singingnymph, you are still here!  Nice to see you.
Thanks! I'm tabbing back & forth between here, a game, and some midi music I'm previewing. Er, pre-listening.
I'm attempting a forum comeback. I've missed it here.

we are really lucky

Yes, you were luckier than a lot of people.  And those of us on the West Coast are very lucky, too.

That sounds frightening enough without looters. Yeesh.

DR vixmom, it's not wrong as long as you are grateful for it & do what you can.

Matthew, I wish you the best. Sounds like you're dealing with a diva. As such, just make sure it seems as if he's the diva and you're about getting the job done as best as possible with the mission in music being the foremost goal.

Our church  has a paid minister of music who runs our choirs - (adult praise choir, adult traditional choir, children's choir, youth choir, string choir, three bell choirs, and brass chorale)  as well as being our organist on Sundays - but we have no paid singers

I've been back in Fresno for a while (bounced around every few years between here in LA) & I think I want to stay. Been doing my meager part to help the creative community where I can, & finding my niche in it.

George, do you have any desire to see FIDDLER ON THE ROOF at Village?  Matt Posner is in it, if that affects your decision one way or another.

Do you need a driver?  I hadn't thought about going, but if I had company, that sounds like fun. :)

Back at my old haunt (hehe), The Grove Haunt (a seasonal Halloween attraction) in nearby Sanger. Just finished another great season. And I make myself available every March as a minion/volunter-deluxe to the producers of the Rogue (fringe) Festival.

I also have a chanteuse alter-ego waiting to make her debut. I have a couple pianist pals who've made themselves available to work with me. I really wanted to do a Mae West birthday party this past August, but couldn't raise enough money. Saving it for next year, which is her 120th.

Yes, I've got the car and the gasoline, but I do need a driver.  It opened last Thursday, but it runs until the end of December in Issaquah.

I just watched an episode of "Firefly" and Zac Efron played the younger version of their doctor.  And now, Christina Hendricks (from "Mad Men") plays a woman who married (without his knowledge or consent) captain Mal. :D

How cool is that?  How much money do you have to raise?
