SIX MUSICAL NUMBERS, PART TWO
« on: November 16, 2012, 12:08:52 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of six musical numbers, part two, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're taking the day off and going to the MOOseum to see the Stanley MOObrick exhibit.

DR TCB

You wondered why Shawn Phillips recorded the song for Lost Horizon I think he was recording for A & M label at the time which I think owned the Bell Label that the soundtrack was released on.

If this is not the case I don't know why, but it was a nice choice.

I am wrong about  A & M.

Bell records

Side note: In the 60's The Bell label merged with two other labels and was bought by Columbia Pictures

in the 70's  "Columbia Pictures music consultant Clive Davis, took over as President and would merge the various Columbia Pictures legacy labels (Colpix Records, Colgems Records, and Bell) into a new entity renamed Arista Records..."

One of the groups that recorded for Bell was THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY which BK has some dealings with.

Good morning, all! I slept well until around 4:15am, when the neighbor above me arrived home quite noisily. After many bumps. thumps, and assorted footstepsd, he quieted down and I went back to sleep. As a result, I slept later than intended, and the laundry is now in the washers.

At noon, I am seeing LINCOLN at 68th and Broadway. I'm looking forward to it. My mother's family is ain the family tree of the sister of Nancy Hanks, Lincoln's mother. Ithink that on Thanksgiving, I may see ARGO, which is the other film I've been wanting to see.

Speaking of movies there are some book movies that are coming out next year. The Host (also by Stephenie Meyer). The book was amazing so I have high hopes for it.

Also two others that are getting a lot of promotion: The Mortal Instruments based on the book City of Bones (which I have and need to read ASAP). And Beautiful Creatures. Need to read this book ASAP too (have wanted to but just haven't had the chance).

Today I'm off to a very abbreviated day at school as later this morning, I have to play a prayer service for a younger lady who was tragically killed by a falling tree.  It's all Beatles songs, of which they chose 11.  I may need to whittle down a few- one of them is "Oh Darling" which I'm not familiar with and one is "Please Mister Postman" - which I'm not sure will work in ANY service.

Then tonight is a rehearsal for A Christmas Carol - The Musical in which I will go, run the play back, fix the vocals if needed and keep my mouth shut as they stage the opening sequence.  I say that because I made quite a few suggestions early on about the need to keep the story focused, we'll see what happens.  It'll just look like a blob on stage if they don't. for 6 years now.

I have to blow leaves off my grass and into the woods, a ritual repeated several times during the fall and post-fall seasons.

I hear a neighbor doing it right now.  I heard another neighbor doing it yesterday.  A way of life here in Leafville, USA.

Hopefully, this one is the last big effort of the season.

BK, re: the note you want to leave at your door for them to leave the packages.

They have a paper you can fill out from UPS (for example) and you just sign it and leave it on your door when you go out.
