The Hostess outlet store had a big line and many many empty shelves.  I got some vanilla zingers, some bread crumbs and even a fruit cake. I got some chocolate zingers and cupcakes at the neighborhood convenience store.   I'm going to give the Zingers to friends and take them home for Thanksgiving, lol

You are giving them to friends?  Or are you taking them home for Thanksgiving?

I have a dozen packages of Zingers.  I was going to give a few to Paul when we met to see Lincoln today, but I forgot, so I'll probably take them home for Thanks

I think she is going to give them as Christmas presents.

That's a good idea, but they all expire before Christmas

Off to the final performance of THE CRUCIBLE....only one more time to play the first scene with the worst actress in the play - if not the world.

Last night she was doing some different "acting" - not better....just different in a new bad way.

That hasn't stopped several Tony winners! The "Light In The Piazza" star has had a successful career on the "see how hard I'm acting" technique.

Now who could you be talking about?

Towards the end of the day we  passed by a marina where a local Barbeque restaurant had set up a free buffet -  there were  some of thso  Instant popup awing  things set up with cleaning items - bottles of water , clothes etc  - people were coming in droves from the local houses -  all still without power and in the zone that is still under curfew --- no one allowed in or out during  hours of darkness - we asked if they could the items we had in the van - apparently they had just run out of soup and were running low on water!

So we pulled in and they helped us unload the van - --

all in all a day well spent

Although the Hostess Fruit Cake may very well be my white elephant gift this year.  The store had empty shelves but boxes of fruitcakes, lol

Lincoln was a very good movie.  It's all about getting the 13th Amendment passed.  Paul thought it got a slow start, but everyone in the theater was really into it after that.  It's the first time in ages that I've been at a movie where people applauded at the end.

I wanted to see that, but as the one person alive on Earth who has yet to acquire a DVR, this showing passed me up.

Make that two of us!

Holly and I drove  randomly through the streets stopping wherever we saw people  working and offering them  hot soup and hot chili  - sandwiches etc  these areas are still without power and heat

for some reason  I turned down a  little street and noticed a house that  had a huge pile of baby items piled up outside - there was no one outside but the garage door was wide open and the windows were open

Holly and I looked at each other and at the same moment said - "should we knock at the door?"  We laughed and I said "I guess so!"

So I went up and knocked and a small lady  with a little baby in her arms and a girl of about 6  standing next to her answered

I introduced myself, pointed out the church van in front of the house and asked if they could use any hot food or baby items -

She told that she had just put the last  clean diaper she had on the baby -

It turned out we had a case of the size diaper her baby used in the van, and a case of the formula the baby used - we gave her those and some soup. chili and sandwiches -  she was  crying and saying 'God sent you" --- you know, I believe He did

I know He did.

No DVR here either

I need to go down to the local cable office and just get one.  I've got a DVD recorder sitting here, but I don't keep it connected in a way that makes it easy to record from cable.
