Three of them are in Eastern Washington and the other two are on the military base.  Both are a long way by wheelchair.

Back from wine club party. It was quite enjoyable. The theme was Champagne and Burgundies, and I really couldn't drink much of either because of the allergy meds, but the food was good and it was great to see some friends I hadn't seen in a year or two.

TCB, you aren't missing much.  It's just like a Taco Bell only a little different.  Sort of like McDonalds vs Burger King

Richard has asked for dinner from Taco Bell.  I don't know if that means a) he's feeling better, b) he's had too much pain medication, or c) he's watched too much TV today.  Anyway, off I go...

I love Taco Bell! I know it's faux Mex, but I love their tacos and burritos. Gives me a whole reason for returning to Middletown. That and Wendy's.

I love Taco Bell, too!  I even bought all of the chihuahua dogs (I posted this video). :D

Holly and I drove  randomly through the streets stopping wherever we saw people  working and offering them  hot soup and hot chili  - sandwiches etc  these areas are still without power and heat

for some reason  I turned down a  little street and noticed a house that  had a huge pile of baby items piled up outside - there was no one outside but the garage door was wide open and the windows were open

Holly and I looked at each other and at the same moment said - "should we knock at the door?"  We laughed and I said "I guess so!"

So I went up and knocked and a small lady  with a little baby in her arms and a girl of about 6  standing next to her answered

I introduced myself, pointed out the church van in front of the house and asked if they could use any hot food or baby items -

She told that she had just put the last  clean diaper she had on the baby -

It turned out we had a case of the size diaper her baby used in the van, and a case of the formula the baby used - we gave her those and some soup. chili and sandwiches -  she was  crying and saying 'God sent you" --- you know, I believe He did

what else could I have done today to make me feel more satisfied  with my day  than that?

Lovely story, Vixmom. :)

I wanted to see that, but as the one person alive on Earth who has yet to acquire a DVR, this showing passed me up.

Not only do I not have a DVR, I have no tv.

One of my staff also lives in this condition.  He doesn't have a TV, a DVD player or a VCR.  He doesn't even have a microwave.  He only got a cell phone a couple of years ago so that he could contact me or I could contact him if something happens. :-\

There are actually three books in the series.  The library where I work got a whole bunch of each...and 16, count 'em, 16 copies EACH of the large print editions!

I woke up early today, did a little shopping and now am waiting to go to the matinee to see Lincoln.   I'm thinking about stopping by the Hostess outlet store to see if there is anything left. They found out yesterday that Monday is their last day and then they are out of work and the store is closed.

Today, I went to the local Wonder/Hostess store.  Everything was half-off/buy-one-get-one-free.  Talk about crowded!  All of the Hostess pastries and snack foods were gone, except for the powdered Donettes.  Most of the stuff that I bought was stuff that the store sold.  The only things I got that were specifically "Hostess" were a couple of packages of chocolate chip cookies.  Still, it was a madhouse.  One woman was in front of me in line and had a cart filled with six boxes of various gravy packets.  Each box held 20 packets!  AND she had a whole bunch of other stuff.  What was funny was that when we got in line at almost the same time, she had to let me know that she was in line ahead of me (like I would take cuts).  Even if I did cut in line, it wouldn't have taken me very long to get through.  I only had six items!

I went on Thursday and got a few things...one package each of the orange cupcakes (my favorite), the vanilla Zingers (my second favorite), Suzi-Qs (my former first, now third favorite ;)), chocolate Zingers, and Ho-Hos.  On Thursday, I had no idea what was going on and didn't realize what was going on until later that afternoon.  If I would've known then, I probably would've gone back and stocked up.  A couple of people there that day were more concerned about getting enough packets of the turkey gravy for Thanksgiving.

And now, I'm going to start to watch the recently received Blu-ray to Stephen Sondheim's Company!  I don't know if I'll finish it tonight, but I finally have some time.  Earlier this evening, I recorded two Jimmy Fallon specials from my DVR onto my sister's boyfriend's laptop.  He's going to make Blu-rays for himself.  I recorded them onto my DVD burner.  That's good enough for me.  Earlier this week, I recorded the Firefly special, "Browncoats Unite" onto his laptop so that he can make a Blu-ray of that for me.
