Well DR ELMORE - I am hoping to play The Man In the Chair in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE this August....we shall see what happens.

You'd be great in that, Jack!  Good luck!!

I'd love to play that role, also.

It is now official, after weeks of weird behind-the-scenes checks and delays, I have been offered a permanent job doing the job that I've been doing as a contractor for the past 18 months. Pay is really fine and the benefits are extraordinarily fine.

After three years without stable, permanent employment, it feels nice. It's rather dizzying and humbling at the same time.

I start on Dec. 3.

CONGRATULATIONS DR JOHN G.!! ;D ;D ;D

I, too, listened to Sandy's recording today. I really loved it. My colleague Curtis arrrived at the office just as Sandy began her duet with Euan Morton. Curtis worked with him on INTO THE WOODS a couple of years ago for, I think, the Kansas City Rep. Oh, the stories!

Back home after having drinks with friends in a bar. On the way back I called in at a smart new fish restaurant for some takeaway fish and chips, shown below :)

Them looks mighty fine. I broke down last week and had fried clams strips and fries. Heaven.

I just listened to Sandy Bainum's (aka The East Coast Singer) new holiday CD, THIS CHRISTMAS.  What a delight!  From first note to last, this is a tuneful and terrific mix for The Season.  I loved 'This Christmas,' a worthy addition to the ranks of other favorite holiday songs.  A+ all the way.

I've listened to it several times over the last week or so.  I haven't gotten tired of it. :D

I brought it to my parents' house on Thanksgiving, but there was so much conversation that it wasn't really heard.  It'll definitely be brought over again when it gets closer to Christmas.

I also have to say that I love the packaging.  I don't usually like the digi-paks because they can get finger prints all over them and scratched much too easily, but the non-shiny (matte) versions look so much better, even if they're scratched.

Does ths mean you can afford to buy a copy of EILEEN now?
Truth be told, Elmore. I bought it last night.

And thanks.

I hope you enjoy it!

I am really happy for your steady employment.

Those fish and chips look just fine.  I could use those right about now.

Whatever happened to Arthur Treacher's?  I know the brand still exists, but apparently nowhere I frequent.

Hope nobody minds but I'm passing along the lovely comments about Sandy's CD to Sandy - she loves reading them.  I, of course, think the CD is SHIT or at least my song is SHIT :)

Where's Pogue when you need him?  He hasn't even responded to me playing Miss Taylor and he Mr. Burton.  And that marks him SHIT in my book (Chapter Three - I Mark Pogue as SHIT)

I don't know where they are. Not down here. I bought the clam strips at an A&W with a root beer on the side.

I started work on the minutes for the conference earlier this month. Unusually early for me. But when they are done, I have no more responsibilities there, as I have served the maximum amount of time on the board.

Congratulations on your upcoming freedom, Laura.

Thank you, TCB. I have enjoyed the seven years I have served. But I think it is time to take a break.

We are back from a very full day.  Richard's appointment went fine - his stitches have been removed and he can now take a shower without the plastic hip boot that kept his foot dry.  We learned how to bandage his foot and made another appointment for 3 weeks from today.

After lunch at First Watch, we made a bakery stop at Panera for whole wheat bread for us and a couple of birthday pastries for Mom.  We delivered her birthday presents and helped her with some of her Christmas decorations.  Made a couple of shopping stops and now we're in for the evening.

Fabulous news from DR John G!  I was hoping that was the secret.  Isn't it fun sweating out whether or not you're going to be offered the job you're already doing?

My apartment smells fabulous! The beef, bay leaf, onion, tomatoes, cabbage and cauliflower are brewing up a delicious stock. Tomorrow I'll add the potatoes and carrots, then throw in the celery, more onion, green beans, lima beans, and corn. I should have by late tomorrow evening four pots of soup cooking away. I'll keep one and freeze the rest.

Now, what am I doing about dinner?

BK, I know it's a day early, but did you say you were getting Sandy's album on Amazon?

I haven't quite decided if WE'RE putting it up (I hate the way they do their business in terms of us, with them taking 60%) but I think it will end up there via CD Baby or something - I've never given CD Baby that option before but have now.

I just listened to the CD for my fourth or fifth time, and it just keeps getting better.  And by the way, the pictures in the booklet and the album itself are great fun as well.

She isn't doing a show in NYC, is she?  Just in DC?

Pogue is probably cowering under his covers since I posted that I didn't think he'd be happy if he slaved over something and then asked me my opinion (or not) and I told him it was utter SHIT.  Or not. :)
