Page five?  Five pages?  Still watching Skyfall and if they don't muck it up in the last however many minutes left (probably forty) then I'll have to say it's the best Bond film in two decades, maybe more.

Even our GUESTS have been way in absentia for days now.  Our usual sixty to seventy is in the thirties.  Since we know they're not watching Outside the Box, perhaps they're Christmas shopping or cleaning the wax out of their collective eardrums.

Us regular folks that don't go to the theater have to wait for the DVD to be released.  I'm glad it will be worth the wait.

I laughed out loud at the Leper Colony number. Do I detect a subtext to the boys' relationship? What would Charlton Heston think?

Well, we know what Stephen Boyd thought.  It was his idea (and William Wylar's)

If anything were to bring Heston back from the great beyond, this has to be it.

Just to pry the DVD from his cold dead hand!

I have been in the other end of the house, trimming the Christmas tree.  Took a break in the middle to watch tonight's episode of OUTSIDE THE BOX, which I thought was very funny.

Sandy and I just watched OUTSIDE THE BOX.

We both think it was one of the funniest of the entire series.

(Charlton Heston must be spinning in his grave.)

Methinks the duet has to be one of the VERY funniest songs.

I knew the episode would work as soon as I wrote the duet - it was the first thing I did, way back in February.

Watching a Kiki and Herb DVD. I shouldn't laugh as much as I do at these two. Totally tasteless and deranged.

Hello, everyone.

Druxy, I enjoyed your two trailers. I'd say they're just the right length, too. I've seen some that are just too long. This is better. Gets the point across quickly.

Agreed!  Very nicely done, Druxy.

Great episode, BK!  I'll have to show this to my sister...she loves the Heston movie (but she's not particularly a fan of Heston's). :D

Subtext??  They were practically shouting it. ;)

As you can see, since I don't believe in subtext, we simply made it the TEXT.

What BK said.

Was up at 4am to get to the swap shop in Lake Worth. When we got there at 5:30 the spaces were sold out and we were on standby, We waiting an hour and we left and drove down to Fort Lauderdale which has another Swap Shop and much bigger. We got a space and set up shop.
It was interest what would sell and what wouldn't. Then the rains came and we quickly packed up and left. The next time We will bring a tarp to cover the items in case it rains.

I put out over 18 years of collecting DVDs (and some blu rays). I ending up making quite a bit of money that will go to bills. Amazing what people sell and what people will buy.

Congrats on the sales, Mike!

Finished with Skyfall, which is indeed close to two hours and twenty minutes.  Reading comments on the imdb is fascinating - the alternate between one star and ten stars - literally every other comment.  I do like the little twerps who talk all about how it's not really a Bond film when they cite the Craig version of Casino Royale as a perfect Bond film.  Casino Royale may be many things, none of which were to my liking, but a classic Bond film?  No.  So, for me Skyfall is a curio because clearly they are attempting to bring some fun back into it and that part succeeded.  Finally some Bondian quips.  In the best moment of the film, Bond's Aston Martin makes an appearance, along with the Bond theme.  The villain is actually colorful.  The plot?  Standard.  The direction?  For this kind of film, very good - no shaky cam - not one shot.  I'd nominate Sam Mendes for best director for that alone.  Yes, it's too much an action picture.  People seem to think that's what Bond has always been about, but a simple viewing of any of the Connery films will tell you otherwise, especially the first three.  Yes, there are always one or two sequences, but they were never relentless like the later films and especially like the redo of Casino Royale, which I find dreary and dank and unappealing.

We had our  Concert Band Christmas Concert tonight. It went really well. Between Concert Band and flute choir I've had 3 different concerts/performances this weekend and one last Saturday.  It's been a crazy busy weekend but I enjoyed it.
